In a football scenario permeated by cold statistics and numbers that often obscure the shine of true trajectories of overcoming, Paulinho's case emerges as a captivating story of resilience and determination. Edmundo, on his program, revealed an intriguing narrative about the player's refusal to return to Flamengo, giving space to a deeper analysis of the meaning behind the apparently unfavorable data.

THE REJECTED WHO REBORN: DEMYTHIFYING THE NUMBERS

By stating that "the numbers lie", Edmundo opens a window to understanding Paulinho's recent journey. The player, once offered to Vasco, was turned down due to unflattering statistics over the last two years. However, Edmundo warns that judging a player's quality solely by numbers can be misleading. Paulinho, far from being an athlete with mediocre performance, went through a challenging period after knee surgery, which kept him away from the field for almost two years during his time at Bayer Leverkusen.

A CHOICE BASED ON RESPECT: FLAMENGO REFUSED FOR LOVE OF VASCO

The turnaround in Paulinho's career takes on more intriguing contours when Edmundo reveals that the player, upon returning to Brazil, turned down a proposal from Flamengo. Surprisingly, the refusal was not related to sporting reasons, but rather a gesture of respect for Vasco. The athlete's brother would have confided in Edmundo that Paulinho declined the red-black offer as a way of honoring Vasco's roots.

THE TRIUMPH OF OVERCOMING: BRAZILIAN SELECTION, ARTILLERY AND HIGHLIGHTS IN THE BRASILEIRÃO

< Contrary to statistics and conventional logic, Paulinho chose Atlético-MG as his destination. This decision, although it surprised some, became a crucial turning point in his career. The player not only recovered his form, but also regained a place in the Brazilian team, where he stood out as top scorer and a prominent figure in the Brasileirão.

EDMUNDO'S LESSON: BEYOND SCOUTS, SENSITIVITY IN EVALUATION< /p>

Edmundo's analysis not only challenges the conventional narrative, but also offers a valuable lesson about evaluating talent in football. When warning that "if you only rely on numbers, on scouts, you will make a lot of mistakes", he highlights the importance of considering the human and contextual aspects behind the raw data. Paulinho's story is an eloquent reminder that a player's true value often transcends quantitative metrics.

CONCLUSION: BEYOND STATISTICAL LINES, A NARRATIVE OF RESILIENCE

In a A sport where numbers often dictate the conversation, Paulinho's saga emerges as a narrative of resilience that defies expectations. His refusal to join Flamengo out of respect for Vasco, his triumphant return to the Seleção and his outstanding role in the Brasileirão are chapters of a story that transcends the cold lines of statistics. Paulinho, far from being defined by isolated numbers, personifies the essence of football as a human journey full of challenges, sacrifices and, above all, unexpected triumphs.

Last Wednesday (18), representatives from Flamengo and Caixa Econômica Federal held another meeting to resolve the impasse surrounding the Gasologista land, acquired by the club in July. The meeting had the support of Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the Attorney General's Office (AGU), and a new meeting scheduled for next week, in Brasília, could seal the definitive agreement. The information was released by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper "O Globo".

Mengão's board of directors, represented by president Rodolfo Landim, vice-general Rodrigo Dunshee, CEO Reinaldo Belotti and vice-president of equity Marcos Bodin, was optimistic about the possibility of a solution soon. Caixa questions the amount paid by the club at the land auction, but everything indicates that an additional amount could resolve the legal conflict by next month.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE CITY OF RIO

The meeting was also attended by deputy Pedro Paulo and the club's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, who have acted as intermediaries between the club and the mayor from Rio, Eduardo Paes. In August, a meeting involving the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, president Lula and mayor Eduardo Paes had already signaled the path to an agreement.

IMPORTANCE OF THE AGREEMENT FOR FLAMENGO

Mais Querido's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, highlighted that the agreement is the ideal way to give peace of mind to the club. "For the club, a good agreement is always better than an eternal discussion about values. The land has already been expropriated. The agreement is ideal to eliminate any doubts and for Flamengo to have the necessary peace of mind to begin the work", said Cotta.

This Thursday (19), Flamengo hosts Peñarol (URU) at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América. In search of a good advantage for the second leg, coach Tite will have to deal with several important absences in the red and black squad.

Peñarol coach, Diego Aguirre, defined the starting lineup for the match decisive. With no important absences, the Uruguayan team takes to the field with: Aguerre; Léo Coelho, Javier Méndez, Guzmán Rodríguez; Pedro Milans, Eduardo Darías, Damián García, Javier Cabrera, Léo Fernández, Maximiliano Olivera; and Maximiliano Silvera.

Aguirre will have almost his entire squad at his disposal. The only player out of the match is Damian Suarez, who has not yet had his name regularized after his recent arrival at the Uruguayan club. However, Suarez's absence is not a concern, as the coach has a complete squad for the clash against Mengão. b>

On the other hand, Mais Querido has to deal with six confirmed absences. Cebolinha, Pedro, Luiz Araújo, Gabigol, Michael and Viña are out of the match, all due to injuries. These absences complicate the formation of coach Tite, who will have to adjust the team to seek a good result playing at home.

DECISIVE GAME AT MARACANÃ

This Thursday's clash is extremely important for the CRF. The Rio team needs a convincing victory to travel more calmly to Uruguay for the second leg, scheduled for September 26th. O Flamengo is already in Belo Horizonte to face Atlético-MG this Wednesday, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Arena MRV. With Rubro-Negro defending the leadership of the Brazilian Championship, the match promises excitement, especially with some changes in the lineup. After Chile's elimination from the Copa América, Erick Pulgar returned this Tuesday and trained normally at Ninho do Urubu.

As a result, there is the possibility that Pulgar will start the match in Lorran's place. Another expected novelty is the entry of Carlinhos in Pedro's place. Brazil's top scorer traveled with the group, but showed a high rate of wear and tear and will probably start on the bench to be preserved.

FLAMENGO HAS A NEW ATTACK AGAINST ATLÉTICO-MG

The information that Carlinhos trained in the first team was initially released by journalist Venê Casagrande and confirmed by ge. Everton Cebolinha and Igor Jesus are still out. The striker is still recovering from a hip injury, while the midfielder returned to training last Monday with the group, but is still not fit to play.

With these changes, the likely lineup for the Flamengo for match against Atlético-MG should be: Rossi; Wesley, Fabrício Bruno, David Luiz and Ayrton Lucas; Allan, Pulgar and Gerson; Luiz Araújo, Bruno Henrique and Carlinhos.

Defending the leadership of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo faces an Atlético-MG team that is looking to move up the table.  The Minas Gerais team usually imposes difficulties on their opponents when they play at home, and the MRV Arena will be pulsing with the energy of the local fans. The Flamengo coach, aware of the difficulties, has adjusted the team to maintain the rhythm and ensure a good result away from home.
