Portuguese Vítor Pereira, who had a brief stint at Flamengo, was elected the best coach of the month in the Premier League in April . In charge of Wolverhampton, the coach ended the period with five wins in five games, achieving a 100% success rate and promoting a significant turnaround in the English club's campaign.
We were consistent..."
During the month, the team beat West Ham, Ipswich Town, Tottenham, Manchester United and Leicester. In addition to the impressive results, the team showed tactical consistency and defensive solidity, factors that contributed to the recognition. Commenting on the award, Pereira highlighted the collective effort: “ It was a very, very good month for us. We were consistent, competitive, but this is the work of many hidden people. [...] The reward is for everyone .”
Vítor Pereira arrived at Wolverhampton in December 2024, with the team among the bottom of the table. Currently, Wolves occupy 13th place, with 41 points, free from the risk of relegation. The improvement involves a more efficient game model and strategic adjustments that have directly impacted the group's performance.
With 22 matches in charge of the club , the coach has 12 wins, two draws and eight defeats, with 36 goals scored and 29 conceded. Pereira also achieved the highest win rate in recent history of Wolverhampton in the English league, with 52.6% success, an unprecedented feat for a coach of the club.
Before arriving in English football, the coach had a career marked by instability at Flamengo . In charge of the Rio de Janeiro club, he played 17 matches, with nine wins, one draw and seven defeats . Pereira accumulated eliminations and lost titles, including the semi-final of the Club World Cup, as well as the Campeonato Carioca, Supercopa and Recopa.
The São Paulo team is in talks with Fulham and is working out financial details to close a deal for the midfielder before the end of the window.

Palmeiras has taken an important step toward finalizing the signing of midfielder Andreas Pereira, currently at Fulham in England. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days , provided the final details of the negotiations are finalized.
The deal between the São Paulo club and the player is practically finalized, maintaining the conditions discussed at the beginning of the season. At the time, Andreas opted to remain in Europe, but the situation has changed. Fulham signaled that they do not intend to count on the Brazilian after refusing to renew his contract , which runs until mid-2026. As a sign of this change, the player was left out of the squad for the match against Manchester United in the English Championship.
The biggest obstacle at the moment is the payment method. The parties are discussing installment terms and variable amounts. According to information from GE, the negotiation is worth around 10 million euros (approximately R$63.5 million) , including fixed installments and bonuses for milestones.
Earlier this year, Palmeiras offered around €20 million (R$127 million), a figure that was rejected at the time. Internally, the São Paulo club is cautious, as previous negotiations have failed. This time, however, the Fulham player's departure seems more likely.
It is worth remembering that Andreas Pereira has a stint at Flamengo, where he played in 2021 and 2022. The athlete, in fact, was directly responsible for a notable error in the game between Mengão and Pameiras, in the Libertadores final in 2021, where the midfielder slipped and 'gave away' the title goal to Alviverde.
Mengão is the leader of the Brasileirão and has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores and analyst believes that titles are a matter of time

Having enjoyed a strong season, Flamengo remains firmly in contention for the major titles of 2025: the Brazilian Championship, in which it is currently leading, and the Copa Libertadores, in which it has already qualified for the quarterfinals . After the victory over Internacional, which secured a spot in the continental competition, former player and current presenter Neto was full of praise for the Flamengo squad and was emphatic in his projections for the team's future.
Neto on Flamengo's current form: "It's almost impossible for anyone to beat Flamengo"
"What Arrascaeta, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira, what Gonzalo Plata played... Flamengo is a team that's unmatched in Brazilian football. And then there's Everton Cebolinha, Pedro, Luiz Araújo... it's absurd ," Neto said during the program Os Donos da Bola.
The commentator also emphasized that, in his view, Flamengo is the clear favorite both nationally and on the continent: "From what I understand about football, it's unlikely they won't win the Libertadores and the Brasileirão . They'll swim in the Libertadores and will be in the final. They're far ahead of the other 19 teams in Serie A. It's incredible; it's almost impossible for anyone to beat Flamengo," he concluded.
In the Brasileirão, Flamengo has 43 points, with one game less than second-placed Cruzeiro, and takes to the field this Monday (25) against Vitória. In the Libertadores, Filipe Luís' team faces Estudiantes (ARG) in the quarterfinals.
Looking to stay at the top of the Brazilian Championship table, Flamengo returns to the field this Monday (25) . At Maracanã, the team faces Vitória, at 9 pm (Brasília time), in a duel valid for the 21st round.
The entity changed the dates of the Brasileirão and Mengão finds itself harmed by the situation with a heavy sequence of games, while alviverde does not oppose it

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced last Saturday (23) adjustments to the national calendar , a decision that generated strong repercussions. While Flamengo expressed dissatisfaction, Palmeiras released an official statement this Sunday (24) supporting the changes proposed by the entity.
According to journalist Danilo Lavieri, the São Paulo club declared that it understood and respected the changes determined by the CBF , adopting a stance opposite to that of Rubro-Negro, which criticized the changes to the schedule.
The CBF has decided to move up the final round of the Brazilian Championship: previously scheduled for December 21, it will now be played on December 7. As a result, the semifinals and finals of the Copa do Brasil have been rescheduled for December 10, 14, 17, and 21. There is also the possibility that the first leg of the final stage will be played on November 26.
Flamengo argues that the changes reduce the number of weeks off for training. Before the change, the team would have five weeks without official matches due to its early elimination from the Copa do Brasil . Now, with the new calendar, the club will have only one week off for preparation until the end of the season.
While the directors finalize an official note about the change in the calendar, Flamengo takes to the field this Monday (25) at 9 pm (Brasília time) , when it receives Vitória at Maracanã for the 21st round of the Brasileirão. Mengão is the leader of the competition with 43 points, while Leão opens the relegation zone with 19.
