The relationship between President Rodolfo Landimand center forward Gabigol was the subject of ESPN's Resenha da Rodada program on Monday night (08). Recently, a post by Landim was leaked explaining why he has not yet renewed Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengo until December. The red-black fans, however, bought into the attacker's fight and sang "Stay, Gabigol" in the celebration of the Rio title, last Sunday (7). "These are the Gabigol fans. He (Landim) gave room to be criticized. The guy is a Flamengo idol, he made history, and for him to easily give up on a player of his caliber... And the fans also think that Gabigol can reinforce a rival. Giving up a player like that certainly generates dissatisfaction", said Luis Fabiano.
Fernando Prass and Fabio Luciano criticized the way in which Gabigol's renewal has been handled by Flamengo's board, mainly due to the striker's history at the club.
"I also understand this protest, because sometimes there are things outside and things inside. And one of those internal things leaked. It's bad for the fans, for the player, even for the group, who are aware of a conversation like that from the president about a player who is a giant in the club's history. The player thinks: ‘what about next year? Can be me'. I'm not talking about renewing, but it's the way it is done. There is a lack of tact, sometimes there is a lot of ego. It's a complicated relationship", said Prass.
"Flamengo, in many moments, this happened, they lacked sensitivity, the way of conducting. It is difficult to understand why this conversation was leaked, if there is interest from above. There's the issue of Gabigol, but I saw banners at Maracanã talking about the ticket price", reinforced the former defender.

Estudiantes is already in Rio de Janeiro for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Flamengo , scheduled for Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The Argentine team trained at Fluminense's facilities , preparing for the decisive duel.
Coach Eduardo Domínguez tested a more conservative formation, including an extra defensive midfielder in midfield, as a strategy to contain Flamengo's attacks. According to Radio Província 1270 in La Plata, the change could result in only one striker on the field , demonstrating a more solid defensive posture.
Estudiantes ' likely lineup for the clash includes: Muslera; Gómez, Nuñez, Rodríguez, Arzamendia; Ascacibar, Piovi, Amondarain, Medina, Tiago Palacios; Carrillo.
