Bruninho Samudio, son of model Eliza Samudio and former goalkeeper Bruno, has been attracting attention in Rio football. At just 14 years old, the young man was recently hired by Botafogo to reinforce the club's youth teams. Furthermore, the boy did not receive prison benefits during the period Bruno was in prison, a right granted to the former goalkeeper's sisters.

Globo has forwarded an agreement with actress Bella Campos for her to be part of the cast of the remake of "Vale Tudo", scheduled to air in April 2025 in the network's prime time. In the plot, she will be Maria de Fátima, daughter of Raquel, who in the new version will be played by Taís Araújo.

In 2023, Bruno Fernandes de Souza, a former goalkeeper who became famous for the tragic case involving Eliza Samudio, won a significant victory in the courts against Editora Record. The lawsuit, filed by Bruno, alleged that his image was used without authorization on the cover of the book “Indefensible – O Goleiro Bruno e a História da Morte de Eliza Samudio”, which led him to request compensation in the amount of R$1 million .
Judge Luiz Cláudio Silva Jardim Marinho, responsible for the case, decided in favor of Bruno, establishing compensation of R$30,000. Although the amount is considerably lower than initially requested, the decision marks an important moment for the former goalkeeper. The judge concluded that Editora Record did not have formal authorization to use Bruno's image, even though photographer Alexsandro Ligório stated that he granted permission.
During the trial, Editora Record argued that the authorization given by photographer Alexsandro Ligório justified the use of Bruno's image in the publication. However, Judge Marinho was categorical in determining that the publisher was responsible for the misuse of the image, thus guaranteeing compensation of R$30,000 to the former goalkeeper.
The case that brought Bruno Fernandes to notoriety occurred in 2010, when he, then Flamengo's starting goalkeeper, was arrested on charges of participating in the kidnapping and murder of Eliza Samudio, his ex- lover and mother of his child. Eliza disappeared in 2010 and, although her body was never completely found, investigations indicated that she was murdered.
Bruno was sentenced to 23 years and one month in prison for the crimes of homicide and concealment of a corpse , kidnapping and false imprisonment of Eliza. In 2018, he entered the semi-open regime and, since January 2023, he has been on parole. After his release from prison, he resumed his professional football career.
