In recent days, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) sent a proposal to end the imbroglio involving the Brazilian Confederation (CBB) and the National Basketball League (LNB). With this, the impasse that has hindered the development of Brazilian basketball is close to an end, and in the resolution Flamengo would start to compete in a new "Brazilian Cup".
Organizing the national championship since 2008 (NBB), the National League had its seal withdrawn by the CBB last year. This is because the Confederation started trying to organize a Brazilian Championship, but the entity was faced with refusals from the big clubs, who chose to remain closed with the LNB, even losing their places in continental competitions.
With the dispute taking place since 2022, and without any sign of progress in the negotiations between the parties, the International Federation had to intervene and mediate the negotiations. FIBA's proposal is that the NBB continues to be the Brazilian Championship, with the endorsement of the CBB, and that the confederation takes care of a new Cup, in an eliminatory format.
Therefore, the League would manage the Brazilian Championship , and the CBB a "Brazilian Cup". In this new model, teams would be forced to participate in both tournaments, and the continental places would be divided. According to information from the newspaper O Globo, CBB has already accepted, and confirmation from LNB is now needed.
With the possible resolution and end of the impasse between LNB and CBB, Flamengo will compete in the new tournament on the calendar Brazilian, which should be in contention this season. The format, however, is not innovative, as the League itself also started to organize a competition along these lines in 2018.

Felipe was revealed as an athlete with great potential. The young man played for the Brazilian National Team's youth teams, went through the NBA Global Academy, the North American league's development program, and played for Fortaleza before arriving at Rubro-Negro last season. He was champion of the Super 8 Cup and was part of the runner-up in the NBB.
However, Felipe only had a few minutes on the court per game and very discreet numbers. The winger played 5 minutes on average per game and had the following statistics: 1.3 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists. The young man had more opportunities in LNb 2024 and did well in the fourth place campaign, but both parties reached an agreement and ended the relationship.
