Olivinha, Flamengo's idol at Flabasquete, is having to watch the games from outside the courts. This is because in the match against Botafogo the athlete collided with an advertising board and dislocated his shoulder. The player needed surgery and still doesn't know when he will be able to play again.

After Flamengo's victory over Vasco, Deus da Raça gave an interview to the MRN portal and said what it was like to be left out of the classic. Rubro Negro beat their rival by a score of 68 to 65. The tight result made Olivinha restless the entire time. But he said he has been undergoing physiotherapy full time to speed up his recovery.

“The operation is still very early. The shoulder came out of place in the last game. It's two days old. It's still quite sore. There's still a little time. They didn't tell me how long I'll be away. I hope it's not too long. May I return as soon as possible. Being left out is really bad. I'm going to do physiotherapy, if possible, full time to get back as soon as possible”, he says.

FLABASQUETE TECHNICIAN CELEBRATES VICTORY OVER VASCO

Mais Querido's coach, Gustavo de Conti also gave an interview in São Januário. The Rubro Negro coach responded about reinforcements and Flamengo's victory over Vasco. He says the triumph was heroic and that he will correct the mistakes internally.

“As far as I know, we don't plan to hire anyone. We are waiting for the players to return from injury. But I do not know. Everything can change. We have a very attentive and alert board. He will do whatever the team needs, for sure”, explains Gustavinho before completing.

“Not bothered, no. I'm playing along. Flamengo and Vasco that's it. Everyone has to catch that spirit. If it doesn't go well, it goes badly. If a ball doesn't fall, it goes hard. It was a sensational victory. At least today, it erases everything we did wrong in the game. But the victory was sensational. Instead of looking for the bad things, I prefer to stay with this endgame. We killed the balls we needed to kill”, he concludes.

In the last period, Pride of the Nation looked for a reaction and made the difference fall to two points, but were unable to turn the score around and ended up suffering their second defeat in the competition.

1st Quarter

Playing at home, São Paulo started the fourth with a strong rhythm and opened up an advantage on the scoreboard. Flamengo's first three-ball was from Jhonatan Luz. In the final stretch of the period, the red-and-black team improved their shooting performance a little and closed the gap to seven points. The hosts closed the partial at 25 to 18.

2nd Room

In the opening minute of the second quarter, Jordan Williams worked well in the paint and scored his first two points of the match. Pride of the Nation came back better and managed to cut the difference to just three points. Just as São Paulo opened the lead again, Kayo Gonçalves hit a triple ball and put Mengão back in the match. Franco Balbi, from the dead zone, received a free kick and also converted from the perimeter. Almost from the middle of the court, the Argentine point guard scored another three-pointer. With that, the red and black team followed behind São Paulo, who finished ahead by just two points: 38 to 36.

3rd Quarter

On the break, São Paulo continued to make good use of three-pointers. On the other hand, Flamengo tried to work on offensive plays to convert points, but fluctuated a little in attack, finding it difficult to be more effective with shots. The duel remained very balanced, with the teams exchanging points. However, the tricolor team remained with the advantage and closed the partial at 58 to 53.

São Paulo, in turn, also responded with points, leaving the game very balanced. An important factor to highlight is that the red-and-black team was not making good use of three-pointers. Balbi converted two balls followed by three and made the difference fall to five points with just over a minute to go. With three free throws converted by Gui Deodato, São Paulo's advantage was just two points.
