Born in the city of Belo Horizonte, Wesley Castro began his career in 2013 at Pinheiros and gained experience at clubs such as Minas, Corinthians and Mogi das Cruzes before landing at Franca. At the São Paulo club, he was a key player in the team's fourth NBB championship, averaging 10.1 points and 4.3 rebounds.
In addition, he won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2023 and shone in Franca's last two seasons — including his return after a brief stint in Mexico — returning with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in his return.
