Flamengo faces a long and challenging season, with competitions ongoing until December. To strengthen the squad, the club remains attentive to the market and remains interested in Andreas Pereira , with the intention of offering a four-year contract to the midfielder.
According to journalist Julio Miguel Neto, Flamengo is monitoring the player's situation at Fulham (ENG) and, despite contact made by intermediaries at the beginning of the year, the board does not intend to exceed the four-season limit on the contract . The English club is protecting itself with a contract until June 2026 and recently rejected Palmeiras' attempts to sign the midfielder.
In early 2025, Andreas ' representatives offered the player to Flamengo, but Fulham set a price of 20 million euros (R$122.6 million). The Rio de Janeiro club considers this amount to be high and, for now, has not shown any willingness to pay the amount demanded by the English club. The red-and-black club is still in talks with Lucas Paquetá 's staff, but any progress will only come after the player's trial .
In addition to Andreas, Flamengo is in advanced negotiations with Jorginho , from Arsenal (ENG). Football director José Boto and the player's representatives recently met in Barra da Tijuca , and the expectation is for a positive outcome in the coming days. There will be a new meeting with the player's representatives later this week.
While working to strengthen the squad, Flamengo focuses its attention on the debut of the Libertadores. After beating Internacional 1-0 at Maracanã , in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Libertadores, Flamengo is preparing for the decisive duel of the return leg, this Wednesday (20), at Beira-Rio. Conmebol confirmed that Uruguayan referee Esteban Ostojich will be responsible for conducting the match .
In the 2025 edition of the tournament, the Uruguayan has already refereed seven matches. The VAR role will be handled by his compatriot Andres Cunha . This, however, is Flamengo 's first match refereeing by Ostojich in the current edition of the continental competition.
In total, there were four Mengão games under Ostojich's refereeing, with two wins, one draw and one defeat .
In the Maracanã match, played last Wednesday (13), Bruno Henrique scored, with a header, the winning goal for the red-black team in the first half. With the result, Filipe Luís' team can draw at Beira-Rio to advance to the quarterfinals .

Flamengo's top scorer this season , Arrascaeta gave a press conference this Friday (15), at Ninho do Urubu, and did not spare praise for coach Filipe Luís. The number 10 highlighted that the coach has been achieving results that others have not achieved at the club.

In the 2025 season, Arrascaeta has scored 14 goals in 38 matches, enjoying a high level of technical development.
