After two years out of the final, Internacional is one step away from deciding the Campeonato Gaúcho. To do so, they will have to beat Juventude this Monday (25), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in Beira-Rio. In 2024, expectations surrounding Colorado are high. Reinforced, the team has one of the best unbeaten streaks among clubs in Series A.

In total, there are now 11 games without defeat, with 10 consecutive wins and a draw in the last game played. In the season, there are 12 triumphs and only one defeat. The numbers can be compared to those of two teams that have become accustomed to being at the top of Brazilian football in recent years: Flamengo and Palmeiras.

Cariocas and São Paulo are undefeated and have won nine games. The difference is that Alviverde drew one more game than Rubro-Negro. It is worth mentioning that this result came in the Supercopa Rei, when São Paulo won on penalties. With 10 signings, including names like Rafael Borré and Lucas Alario, Inter is starting to aim for title fights in 2024 and, little by little, is beginning to establish itself as Brazil's third force.

But will Internacional will be able to break Flamengo and Palmeiras' streak in exchange for the throne? In four of the last five editions of the Copa Libertadores da América they were won either by Palmeiras (2020 and 2021), or by Flamengo (2019 and 2022). In the Brasileirão, the São Paulo team managed to win in 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2023. Flamengo, on the other hand, won not four, but two Brazilians. Both awards took place two years apart, in 2019 and 2020.

In the Copa do Brasil 'category', the two teams are tied, each with two titles. The São Paulo native won them in 2015 and 2020, while the Rio de Janeiro native won them in 2013 and 2022. Something similar happens in the Recopa Sul-Americana, where each won just one: Flamengo in 2020 and Palmeiras in 2022.

Forward Petterson had his visa regularized and leaves this Thursday (25) for Portugal. Flamengo loaned the 20-year-old player to Estrela Amadora, a team in Portugal's first division. The loan contract between the Portuguese club and Mengão runs until June 2025.

If Estrela Amadora chooses to buy the player, they will have to pay the amount of €750,000 (R$4.4 million ) for 60% of Petterson's economic rights. The information is from Flazoeiro. With 9 goals in 30 games in the 2023 season, the player won three titles in Mengão's youth categories: the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa do Brasil under-17, both in 2021, and the Brasileirão Under-20 in 2023. After a During his loan period at Athletico Paranaense, Petterson packed his bags for Portugal.

At the Paraná club, he debuted with a goal, but an act of indiscipline caused him to be removed and no longer play. He even had a new loan to Avaí, which didn't happen. Now he will have another chance to prove himself.

About Estrela Amadora, Petterson's new club

The club finished the last season of the Portuguese League in 14th place, with seven wins, 15 defeats and 12 draws. In the League Cup, the team was eliminated in the first round; in the Portuguese Cup, Estrela Amadora fell through in the fourth round.

The result in the Portuguese Championship, however, was considered satisfactory. This is because the team returned to compete in the local elite after 15 years. The objective was maintenance.

In the new team, Petterson can expect to find many Brazilians among his teammates. The club has names like André Luiz and Daniel Cabral (both ex-Flamengo), Bruno Brígido (ex-Criciúma) and Léo Jabá (ex-Corinthians). Currently the club plays in the pre-season of European football.

After a disgraceful elimination in the playoffs of the Copa Sudamericana, against Rosário Central in Argentina, Renê opened up about his future away from Internacional due to being the target of numerous criticisms. Visibly uncomfortable, the full-back gave indications that he will leave Beira-Rio at the end of the season.

“My future at the club, let's see what will happen. The trend is that at the end of my contract, I take another path. I think it's the best, not only for me, but also for the team, since I'm bringing some boos to the fans, staying away could bring a better atmosphere and help the team win championships”, he declared in the mixed zone . Renê: from titles to boos

Elected best left-back in the 2018 Brasileirão, two-time Brazilian champion, Libertadores champion and four-time Rio champion with Flamengo, Renê was never considered an idol or star, but he was a regular player in his proposed game. Defensively good and difficult to dribble past, he has always demonstrated a certain deficiency in the offensive and playmaking aspects. Internacional's bad period also gets in the way, bad results create villains, while good phases hide problems.

Both in Mais Querido, as in Sport, his qualities stood out and were well exploited by the clubs. He stood out for Recife's red and black team and was hired by Fla in 2017. Here, he was an absolute starter until the arrival of Filipe Luís. With the signing of Ayrton Lucas in 2022, he lost space and was negotiated with Internacional.

The capital mistakes in the 2023 Libertadores semifinals greatly tarnished the image with the fans, leaving the relationship strained ever since. In addition to poor performances and mistakes in games in the Campeonato Gaúcho and Copa Sudamericana. The player himself understands that there is no longer a climate and has demonstrated his interest in not remaining in the team.

Possible destinations

When traded to Internacional, four more clubs showed interest in signing the player. Currently, a likely destination would be a return to Sport, the team where he had his first national highlight.
