This was not the first European offer discarded by the Rio club. Previously, Bournemouth presented a proposal of 12 million euros, while Atalanta put 20 million euros on the table. Despite the attractive values, Flamengo remains firm in its policy of only releasing Wesley for figures that correspond to its projection on the international market.
Wesley has consolidated himself as a key player in the Flamengo, which is why the club maintains its cautious stance. The player is not only an absolute starter on the right flank, but also plays a fundamental role in the team's game strategy. This tactical importance is one of the factors that justify the athlete's high valuation.
< p>WESLEY'S PERFORMANCE
Wesley's performance last season caught the attention of major European clubs. Technical quality, combined with defensive consistency and efficiency in supporting the attack, makes the right-back one of the most coveted players on the transfer market. The red and black board understands that the search for Wesley should continue to be heated, which could result in even more advantageous offers.
THE CLUB ENTERS A STATE OF ALERT < /b>
The Flamengobelieves that Wesley is experiencing the best moment of his career so far. This confidence in the player's evolution reinforces the decision to reject proposals that do not match the athlete's growth potential. Furthermore, the club shows optimism with the possibility of achieving an even greater financial return in future negotiations.
On the other hand, the decision to keep Wesley in the squad also meets a strategic vision of the board. Flamengo seeks a balance between sporting competitiveness and financial health. To achieve this, the permanence of players like Wesley, who combine talent with impact in the first team, is seen as essential.
Bap will present feasibility studies and a new agreement with Rio City Hall regarding the Gasômetro site at a hybrid meeting of the Deliberative Council.

Flamengo's Deliberative Council will hold a hybrid meeting in Gávea next Wednesday (17) to discuss the progress of the project for its own stadium . The meeting, which begins at 6:30 pm, will allow both in-person and virtual participation, and should update council members on the technical studies on the Gasômetro site and the new agreement signed with Rio City Hall.
President Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, will present detailed information on the land feasibility study, which is considered essential for determining the project's next steps. Additionally, council members will be able to learn more about the terms of the agreement signed with the City Hall and ask questions directly to the board.
In August, Bap met with Mayor Eduardo Paes to discuss the stadium. At the time, the land tenure agreement for the Gasômetro stadium was signed, ensuring that the Mais Querido club will remain committed to making construction possible . The agreement also extended important deadlines for the project's completion, giving the board more breathing room to make necessary adjustments.
The postponement was confirmed by Bap himself in an interview with the club's official channel. According to him, the requirements contained in the City Hall's public notice made it difficult to accelerate the schedule. Despite the obstacles, the director reinforced that the stadium dream remains firm and financially sustainable for Flamengo.
" There were a series of conditions imposed in the tender for the project to move forward . When evaluating these preconditions, we realized that these steps would not be simple, quick, or easy to fulfill. Therefore, it would not be feasible to open this stadium in 2029," stated the Flamengo president.

Flamengo continues its preparations to face Juventude this Sunday (14), in the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship. The team's second-highest scorer this season, Pedro is expecting to start as a starter and could be one of the main weapons of Filipe Luís' team.
The number 9's record against the opponent excites the fans: in five matches against Juventude, Pedro has already scored six goals and provided one assist . In retrospect, the center forward also has the advantage, with three wins against the Gauchos and only two losses.
The season has been full of ups and downs for Pedro. After recovering from a serious knee injury in April, the striker faced criticism for his performance in training and even became embroiled in controversy off the field . However, he managed to turn things around and is now Flamengo 's second-highest scorer this year, with 12 goals and five assists.
Flamengo leads the Brazilian Championship with 47 points (14 wins, five draws, and just two losses) . Just behind them are Cruzeiro with 44 points and Palmeiras with 43. Juventude, their next opponent, is in a difficult situation: they are in 18th place with just 21 points.
With Pedro available, Flamengo returns to the field on Sunday (14), at 4 pm (Brasília time), to face Juventude, at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium, in Caxias do Sul, for the 23rd round of the Brasileirão. The Mais Querido seeks the first victory against Jaconero away from home since 1997 , when with an own goal from Rodrigo Silva, managed to come out victorious.
