0The Flamengo squad is focused on the decision of Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Since the beginning of the week, the players, under the command of coach Gustavo De Conti, have been intensely dedicated to activities in preparation for the first game against Franca. This Friday (31), the last training session will take place before the grand final, which will take place on Saturday (01), at Maracanãzinho.
Since last Monday (27), Flamengo players have been adjusting the last details for the final. The final training session, scheduled for today, at Maracanãzinho, will be attended by the press. After the activity, coach Gustavo De Conti, captain Olivinha and forward Gabriel Jaú will be available to answer questions from journalists.
Flamengo had an exceptional campaign in this edition of the NBB. In the qualifying phase, ‘Pride of the Nation’ finished in first place. In the playoffs, the team demonstrated superiority by beating Botafogo (round of 16), Fortaleza (quarters) and Bauru (semifinal) without losing a single game.
Coach Gustavo De Conti commented on the challenges Flamengo will face against Franca, current two-time NBB champion. "More than we did in the season and in the playoffs. The difficulties increase in each phase and, now in the final, it is an immense difficulty. We will face a very strong team and we need to be willing, with a lot of determination, very focused on the things we agreed , especially on the tactical side. We need to be perfectionists in everything. We still have to impose ourselves physically because their team is very physical too", said De Conti last Wednesday (29).
< br> THE BIG DAYThe grand final promises to be an exciting clash between two of the best teams in the championship. Flamengo, with their impeccable campaign, and Franca, seeking to maintain their title of two-time champion, guarantee a high-level spectacle for the fans. The match will take place on Saturday (01), at Maracanãzinho, and promises to be a fierce dispute for the NBB title.
