In the last few hours, the British press reported Flamengo's interest in signing of striker Antony, from Manchester United, for next season. However, a source linked to the red-black board denied this information. It is worth remembering that the club will have elections on December 9th, which could change the current management. Antony has a contract with Manchester United until June 2027 and, according to the website Transfermarkt, his market value is around around 20 million euros (approximately R$124 million). The English club paid 100 million euros (around R$504 million) to take him from Ajax in August 2022, but is already considering a possible negotiation for the player in 2025.
The English portal Football Insider recently reported that Manchester United would not rule out a paid loan for Antony. In 2021, Flamengo had already reached a similar agreement with the English club to sign Andreas Pereira, who arrived for a one-year loan, with the purchase price fixed at the end of the contract. However, the player returned to United in 2022.
