On Wednesday morning (01), Flamengo published an official statement highlighting that, in games at Maracanã as home team, all fans, whether red-black or from other teams, have guaranteed access and free movement in the mixed sectors of the stadium . According to the club, the measure reinforces the commitment to welcome rivals and offer a safe environment.
The protest comes amid a tense atmosphere with other teams. Recently, hostile episodes marked classics between Fluminense and Botafogo, when fans were removed from boxes for wearing opposing jerseys . Flamengo , on the other hand, seeks to distance itself from these practices and promotes a friendly atmosphere at Maracanã.
Off the field, the club is facing difficult times. The impasse with Libra and disagreements within Brazilian football groups have made Flamengo the target of public criticism from rivals. This situation has generated fears among fans regarding safety at away games.
Last Sunday (29), against Corinthians, there were clashes at the Neo Química Arena. Around 15 Corinthians fans invaded the visiting section and threw stones at Flamengo fans. The Metropolitan Civil Guard acted with rubber bullets and tear gas , and the Military Police Riot Squad was called in to contain the confusion. In addition, banners threatening the team bus were displayed on the streets leading to the stadium.
Flamengo will have a new opportunity to prove the safety of its fans when it faces Cruzeiro this Thursday (02), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã , for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will be broadcast by SporTV (closed TV) and Premiere (pay-per-view).
Mengão went to court to block payments from Globo regarding the 30% audience share in the contract with the League

Flamengo published, this Wednesday (01), an official note to clarify its position in the debate on the division of revenues within Libra . The club reaffirmed its support for the creation of the league, but highlighted differences in relation to the criteria adopted for the distribution of part of the transmission values.
Flamengo on the confusion with the League: "The Statute determines that the solution must be unanimous"
" Flamengo joined Libra because it wanted to and because it believes in a league. The club wants an agreement; it doesn't impose anything on anyone, nor can it accept impositions. The issue revolves around the criteria for dividing the 30% share of TV broadcast revenue ."
Libra put six scenarios for the division to a vote. The Statute stipulates that the solution must be unanimous. Flamengo and other clubs voted on different scenarios . There was no consensus, and Flamengo went to court because the funds were being paid according to a division not approved by all the clubs.
Currently, the club, under the management of president Bap, is pushing for an adjustment in the amounts received from broadcasting rights, which the board considers outdated. This stance has generated resistance from other Libra teams, such as Palmeiras, Santos, Vitória, and Atlético-MG , who refuse to renegotiate the terms.
Recently, Flamengo managed to get a court to block R$77 million relating to the division of pay-per-view, an amount stipulated in the contract signed between Libra and Globo during the administration of former president Rodolfo Landim , which the club claims does not have a document proving the signature.
While the dispute continues behind the scenes, Flamengo is preparing to face Cruzeiro this Thursday (02), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time) , at Maracanã, for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The confrontation will be broadcast by SporTV (closed TV) and Premiere (pay-per-view).
The entity announced the calendar for the next three seasons of Brazilian football and the State Championships lose strength; Fla already supported the movement

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced changes to the calendar starting in 2026 , including changes to state championships. The Campeonato Carioca will have four fewer matches compared to 2025, with 11 games scheduled between January 11 and March 8.
The adjustment in Carioca meets an agenda presented by Flamengo , aiming to free up dates for national competitions and reduce the overload on the calendar , especially considering the long break for the World Cup.
Last year, Flamengo played 15 matches in the Campeonato Carioca , winning the tournament. The competition began on January 12th and ended on March 16th. Flamengo is a proponent of the idea of reducing the number of players, and in the current tournament, it was the team that submitted the competition model.
The Brasileirão will start earlier, on January 28th, unlike previous editions, which began between late March and early April. Furthermore, the CBF confirmed the implementation of semi-automatic offside rules starting in 2026 and that the Copa do Brasil will now be decided by a single match.
Despite the CBF's announcements, Flamengo's 2025 calendar is still going full steam ahead. The Mais Querido faces Cruzeiro this Thursday (02), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time) , at Maracanã, for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will be broadcast on SporTV (closed TV) and Premiere (pay-per-view).
Mengão's former number 9, now at Cruzeiro, returns to Maracanã this Thursday (2) in a match that is worth the leadership of the Brasileirão

The clash between Flamengo and Cruzeiro , scheduled for this Thursday (2) at 8:30 pm, at Maracanã, is one of the most anticipated of the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship Series A. The match not only defines positions in the leadership, but also marks the reunion of Gabigol with the former club. Currently at Cruzeiro, the striker will have the challenge of facing the red-black fans who idolized him so much.
Gabigol became one of the most iconic players in Flamengo's recent history. Signed in 2019, he led a multi-championship generation and won over fans with decisive performances and a strong sense of belonging to the club. Without renewing his contract, he left the club at the end of 2024, after a year of ups and downs and controversy, ending a run marked by goals and achievements.
No stranger to the Maracanã stadium, where he scored 82 goals—79 for Flamengo and three for Santos —Gabigol arrives as a reserve for Leonardo Jardim's Cruzeiro. Even so, the striker is a promising offensive force for the Minas Gerais team, scoring 13 goals this season and playing a key role in the victories over Bahia and Flamengo.
Flamengo and Cruzeiro face off in a thrilling scenario. The home team leads the championship with 54 points, while the visitors have 50, maintaining a high-tension clash with multiple tactical nuances. The match promises a large crowd and plenty of excitement for fans, especially as Gabigol returns to his old home.
Gabigol hasn't received any official offers from Atlético-MG yet. However, even if he did, the striker wouldn't consider leaving Cruzeiro for a rival in the same city. Since his arrival, the number 9 has developed an affinity with Raposa, a factor that reinforces his continued presence in Belo Horizonte.
