The duel between Bahia and Fluminense, for the Copa do Brasil, ended in a 1-0 victory for the Bahians, last Thursday (28), at Fonte Nova. But, in the press conference, the subject was not restricted to the game. Asked about the “maturity” of his team, coach Rogério Ceni cited Flamengo and Palmeiras as the only clubs in the country that have this status , although he remembered that even they are eliminated in knockout competitions.

Rogério Ceni speaking about the maturity of Flamengo and Palmeiras: "they are also eliminated sometimes"

"Today was a great game. We were mature. If we lost, they'd say we weren't. Maturity in football is measured by the result. A team that wins is mature; a team that doesn't win is immature . There's no point in me saying we've gone 10 games without losing; that's pointless," Ceni stated.

The manager then made the comparison: "There's no such thing as a mature team. There are two very mature teams in the country that also get eliminated sometimes: Flamengo and Palmeiras. All the others are trying to find their place ," concluded the Bahia coach.

EX-FLAMENGO DECISIVE IN BAHIA'S VICTORY

Bahia's positive result featured two familiar faces among the red-and-black fans: Everton Ribeiro and Jean Lucas. The latter played a crucial role in providing the assist for Luciano Juba to score the winning goal. With this advantage, the Salvador team could even draw in the return leg at Maracanã, reaching an unprecedented Copa do Brasil semifinal.

FLAMENGO AIMING AT THE BRAZILIAN CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE LIBERTADORES

Already eliminated from the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo turns its attention to the quarterfinals of the Libertadores and to the leadership of the Brasileirão . In the national competition, the team led by Filipe Luís faces Grêmio, this Sunday (31), at Maracanã, at 4 pm (Brasília time), for the 22nd round.

Flamengo announced that it will start a new financial cycle in style. During halftime of the match against Grêmio, this Sunday (31), for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship, singer Alexandre Pires will perform on the Maracanã pitch in a special show. The celebration marks the beginning of the partnership between the Rio de Janeiro club and the betting company Betano , which signed a contract valid until the end of 2028.

According to the information released, Flamengo will receive R$268.5 million per year from the new sponsor. Considering bonuses and variables, the total value of the agreement could exceed R$895 million.

The deal represents a significant leap forward compared to the previous contract with Pixbet, which generated R$125 million annually from brand exposure on the club's main uniform . The board chose to break the previous contract to cement one of the most valuable deals in Brazilian football.

MARK ON THE HOLY MANTLE

During the sponsor transition, the uniform featured the branding of " Flamengo TV ," the club's official YouTube channel. Now, Betano is featured in the most prominent space on the shirt, reinforcing the club's brand image.

Coach Filipe Luís received a special guest at Ninho do Urubu this Friday (29). Former midfielder Obi Mikel, his former Chelsea (ING) teammate , took a tour of Flamengo's facilities and praised the warm welcome at the red-black CT.

Obi Mikel hopes to see Flamengo play at Maracanã: "It would be incredible to be in the stadium and experience that atmosphere"

"I came to see my friend Filipe Luís again; I played with him at Chelsea. He invited me, and I'm very grateful . Everyone here has been very kind, and so has the team. Since I arrived, everyone has been incredible," Mikel said in an interview with Flamengo TV.

MIKEL DREAMS OF EXPERIENCE AT MARACANÃ

During the visit, the Nigerian revealed his desire to attend a Flamengo game at Maracanã: "I've never been to a stadium in Brazil before, but I'd love to go because the fans here bring so much emotion. At the World Cup, Flamengo fans were very loud . For me, it would be incredible to be in the stadium and experience that atmosphere. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great game, and I hope Flamengo wins," the former midfielder stated.

MEMORY: FLAMENGO X CHELSEA IN THE WORLD CUP

Mikel's mention of the Club World Cup recalls the historic clash between Flamengo and Chelsea, still in the first phase of the competition. On that occasion, the English team took the lead through Pedro Neto, but the Red-Blacks fought back and came back with goals from Bruno Henrique, Danilo, and Wallace Yan , sealing the victory 3-1 in the United States.

FLAMENGO HAS SPECIAL MISSING PLAYERS TO FACE GRÊMIO

For this Sunday's match, Filipe Luís will have most of his squad available. The only confirmed absences are Alex Sandro , recovering from a left calf injury, and Erick Pulgar, who underwent surgery on his right foot.

FLAMENGO X GRÊMIO: DATE, TIME AND BROADCAST

Now in Rio de Janeiro, Mikel can fulfill this wish this Sunday (31), when Rubro-Negro faces Grêmio, in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão. The Brasileirão match will be broadcast on Rede Globo (open TV) and Premiere (pay-per-view).
