Flamengo is in a delicate position in negotiations with Corinthians, demanding payment guarantees that have not yet been fully met. The club rubro-negro has learned from past experiences and is aware of the risks of entering into new agreements without adequate financial security. Recently, Corinthians suggested using the same company that guaranteed the sale of Mateusinho as an intermediary for this new deal. However, this history brings with it a significant problem: there are parts of the deal involving the right-back that have not yet been settled< /b>, generating doubts and distrust among Flamengo's board.

The issue of financial guarantees is a key point in these negotiations. Flamengo has had previous problems with clubs that delayed payments, which affected cash flow and even the execution of club projects. In the case of Mateusinho, the company involved in the initial process should ensure compliance with the agreed deadlines, but the financial issues left a warning for the board. This scenario raises an important question: is it worth repeating the same strategy with an institution that previously failed?

FLAMENGO HAS A BIG DILEMMA

What is at stake is not just an isolated transaction, but the trust of the Flamengo in continuing with this partnership. The lack of payment of Mateusinho's installments, which should have been paid by the same company that now offers guarantees, puts the board at a crossroads. Ignoring this history would open the door to new complications in the future. Furthermore, the impact of these failures to meet financial commitments could have a negative impact within the club, even affecting future signings or confidence in new negotiations with Corinthians.

THE CLUB SEES ITSELF DIFFERENTLY

Case If Flamengo accepts the same guarantees, it would, in a way, be ignoring clear signs of previous problems. This could be interpreted as a reckless decision, given recent history. On the other hand, the refusal to accept the conditions imposed by Corinthians would reinforce the board's cautious stance in not compromising the club's financial health. The balance between taking advantage of opportunities and protecting the club from possible financial problems is one of the biggest challenges the board faces at the moment.

A fans and the environment around the Flamengo also follows these movements closely. The pressure for quality reinforcements is constant, especially in a scenario where the club seeks to remain at the top of the competitions it competes in. However, it is essential that decisions are made in a balanced way and with a long-term vision, avoiding compromising the team's financial future. A poorly conducted negotiation now can have lasting impacts.

After leading the Brazilian national team in two World Cups, Tite arrived at Flamengo in 2023 with high expectations. However, despite a record of 70 matches, 41 wins, 13 draws, and 16 losses , the team's performance and the coaching choices were criticized by fans and management. His last game in charge was a 1-0 victory over Athletico-PR, with a goal by Gerson.

With Tite's departure, Filipe Luís took over as Flamengo's coach and has been one of the highlights of the 2025 season . The former full-back has received praise for his work at the club, while Tite remains a free agent, attracting interest from South American clubs and national teams.

According to GE reporter Bruno Cassucci, the Venezuelan Football Federation has opened talks with Tite to take over the team's leadership during the World Cup qualifiers . The goal is to leverage the Brazilian coach's experience to lead the country through the cycle until 2030.

TITE WILL UNDERGO KNEE SURGERY

According to Cassucci, Tite must undergo knee surgery before making a final decision about his career. Even so, the Venezuelan Federation doesn't see the surgery as an obstacle, as the South American qualifiers are on hold after the last FIFA World Cup.

AND FLAMENGO?

Flamengo faces Estudiantes this Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The duel marks the beginning of the knockout stage in the quarterfinals of the continental competition. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN , on pay TV, and on Disney+ for streaming.
