Filipe Luís, former full-back and Flamengo idol, took over the club's technical command in a challenging and transitional scenario. His debut as coach was scheduled for October 2nd, in a classic against Corinthians, but he barely had time to prepare the team. Just two days before, Filipe Luís took the reins of the team, entering the field shortly afterwards, against Bahia. < b>The balance was positive: two consecutive victories and a brief break of 48 hours, soon interrupted by the FIFA Date, which offered a crucial opportunity for the coach to focus on preparing the squad for the decisive moments of the season.

In the period without games, Filipe Luís showed his game vision and work methodology by investing in training long and intense. The main focus was the tactical and physical development of the athletes, with an emphasis on small-field activities and individualized training. The strategy aimed not only to improve the team's performance in the Brazilian Championship, but also to take it to the finals of the Copa do Brasil, one of Flamengo's main objectives this season. During these weeks, the coach was without seven players who were playing for their national teams: Varela, De la Cruz, Fabrício Bruno, Gerson, Arrascaeta, Erick Pulgar and Plata.

A MUCH MORE PREPARED FLAMENGO

A The training structure was meticulously planned, with sessions held from Wednesday to Saturday and a brief break on Sunday. The activities focused on improving ball possession, quick and efficient circulation in the midfield and strengthening the defensive system, areas identified as crucial for the team's evolution. Coach Filipe Luís actively participated in training, running with the players and even demonstrating techniques on the field, which recalled the intense participation of Jorge Jesus, who also acted in a similar way.

< p style="border: 1px solid rgb(197, 0, 24);">One of the most striking aspects of Filipe Luís's first days as a coach was his direct involvement in the activities. He didn't just observe and guide from a distance, but went onto the field with the players, demonstrating in practice the tactical concepts he wanted to implement. This participatory approach brought new energy to the training, with the coach, at times, even competing for the ball and giving carts during the exercises. Ain addition, the training sessions included more relaxed activities, such as the use of footvolley nets to warm up players and the creation of internal speed competitions, which helped to keep the environment light and competitive.

FLAMENGO HAS THE NEW FILIPE LUÍS MANAGEMENT MODEL

With the return of training after the FIFA Day break, the red and black squad got together again to intensify their preparation for the classic against Fluminense, in the Brasileirão. Filipe Luís had not yet drafted the team starter, but his philosophy of mixing starting and reserve players during training allowed for greater integration between athletes. Furthermore, with the expectation of the return of players who were in the national teams just one day before the classic, the coach knew he would have little time to assemble the ideal team for the confrontation.

In a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi spoke about his desire to be called up to the Argentina national team , the current world champion. Despite his dream, the goalkeeper made it clear that his priority remains Flamengo.

Rossi on his dream of joining the Argentine national team: "My job is for Flamengo"

"Obviously, I've always wanted to be called up. I think Brazilian football is very strong, not only in South America, but worldwide as well. In the last call-up, there were players from here. But I'm not thinking about that right now . I think that if I do my job well, that call-up could come," Rossi stated.

TOTAL FOCUS ON FLAMENGO

The Argentine stressed that he keeps his feet on the ground and that his main goal is to continue showing consistency for the Rubro-Negro , who have the best defense in the Brasileirão, conceding only 10 goals in 22 games. At Maracanã, the Mais Querido conceded only three goals.

"I'm in no rush, because my job is for Flamengo , day to day, game to game. My biggest focus is to maintain this streak so that the call-up can come. Of course I have that desire, but I don't treat it as a requirement . I'm Flamengo's goalkeeper, I'm responsible for Flamengo. If the call-up comes, I'll welcome it," he added.

INCOME AND TITLES WITH THE MANTLE

Since joining Flamengo in 2023, Rossi has already won four titles. Last season, he was a key player in the undefeated Carioca Championship and also played in the Copa do Brasil victory. In 2025, he maintained his starting spot in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Estadual . In total, he has represented Flamengo in 125 official matches, establishing himself as a pillar of the team.
