The forward's future Michael, currently at Al-Hilal, can start being profiled this Saturday (1). After winning the Saudi Arabian King's Cup with Al-Hilal, coached by Jorge Jesus, the club and the player will discuss the next steps in his career. Michael, who has a contract with Al-Hilal until January 2025, has not yet decided whether he will remain with the team or seek new challenges.

Al-Hilal's victory over Al-Nassr guaranteed the team the triple crown, ending the season with a flourish. Michael was a starter in the match and had a significant performance, contributing to the team's success. This achievement is a reflection of the good moment the club is experiencing under the command of Jorge Jesus, but it also raises questions about the future of the players, especially Michael.

The Flamengo is keeping an eye on Michael's situation and is interested in repatriating the player. Michael's relationship with the Rio club is long-standing, and the striker has already made a promise to manager Marcos Braz that he would return to Flamengo. In addition to Flamengo's interest, Cruzeiro also consulted on the player's situation, showing that Michael is a desired name in the Brazilian market.

Starting this Saturday, Al-Hilal and Michael will meet to discuss the player's future. The information was released by journalist Raisa Simplicio, who highlighted the importance of these negotiations to define whether Michael will remain in Saudi Arabia or seek new horizons. These conversations will be crucial for planning next season, both for the player and the club.

Several Uruguayan newspapers covered the tie between Flamengo and Vasco this Sunday (15). Among the main vehicles, “El País” and “Montevidéu Portal” highlighted that Luiz Araújo left the classic with a possible knee injury and could be absent for Rubro-Negro in the first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol, next Thursday (19).

Luiz Araújo played just 18 minutes in the classic. The attacker felt his knee after a challenge with a Vasco defender and even tried to continue on the field, but ended up being replaced by Arrascaeta. At half-time, Flamengo issued a statement informing that the player will be re-evaluated by the medical department at Ninho do Urubu. The squad will be presented again this Monday afternoon (16).

Uruguayan newspapers consider the possible absence of Luiz Araújo a big problem for Mengão. The athlete is a starter in Tite's team, with the most matches for Flamengo this season (50) and leader in assists (10).

The newspaper 'El País' classified the player as a key player for the team: “The injury to Luiz Araújo, one of the most important players in Mengão's squad, expands the list of injured players just a few days before the clash against Peñarol in the Copa Libertadores.”

The 'Montevideo Portal' followed the same line, highlighting the importance of the striker: “In addition to the result, another bad news for Peñarol's next rival in the Copa Libertadores it was the departure of Luiz Araújo. The fast right-winger, starter for Flamengo, felt pain in his right knee after a blow.”

Currently, Flamengo's medical department has five injured players: De La Cruz, Michael, Cebolinha, Viña and Pedro, with the trio formed by Cebolinha, Viña and Pedro only expected to return in 2025.

Expectations for De La Cruz in the game against Peñarol

While awaiting Luiz Araújo's diagnosis, coach Tite revealed, after the draw against Vasco, that he hopes to count on De La Cruz for the duel against Peñarol . According to the coach, the Uruguayan's presence could improve the effectiveness of the team, which has shown good performance in recent matches.

“In training, when he (De la Cruz) was leaving, I asked 'is there enough for 20? minutes?'. He smiled, because he couldn't. The physical department definitely said they were not in a position to do so. Not even him feeling well. Especially because you have to talk to the athlete, because then there is the charge. Hopefully, and I hope that he can be there on Thursday to reproduce today's performance, with greater effectiveness”, said Tite in the post-game press conference between Flamengo x Vasco.

During an Al Hilal training session, Jorge Jesus stole the show by participating in a lively game with one of his players. The former Flamengo coach showed his talent by playing catch-up with Arab player Yasser Al-Shahrani. In a relaxed moment, Jesus compared his control of the ball to that of Neymar Jr., a player from Al Hilal, although the comment was not understood in Portuguese by the player.

With his impressive control of the ball, Jorge Jesus he juggled and commented: “It looks like Neymar”, while executing the embaixadinhas. All around, players watched the coach's performance with interest. On social media, Al Hilal took the opportunity to share the video, which quickly gained popularity, accumulating 139,000 likes on Instagram alone. See the video here.

Neymar Jr., who is known as his talent, he is familiar with Jorge Jesus, as he plays for Al Hilal. However, Neymar is recovering from a knee injury suffered following Brazil's 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in October 2023. He suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, a similar injury to Pedro's in the Flamengo, who should only return to the field in 2025. Neymar is still in a long recovery process and should return to the field in next month.

Jorge Jesus is one of the greatest coaches in the history of Flamengo, winning five titles, Libertadores, Brasileiro, Supercopa do Brasil, Recopa and Campionato Carioca, in just over a year at the club and boasting the mark of having more cups than defeats at Rubro-Negro. At Al Hilal, JJ recently reached the same milestone at the Arab club.
