Lucas Paquetá was once again on the agenda at Flamengo, even with the transfer window closed. The midfielder, currently at West Ham, expressed interest in returning to Rubro-Negro in 2024. The player's desire has rekindled the hopes of Flamengo fans, who dream of having him with the Sacred Mantle again.
According to information from journalist Alan Nixon, from The Sun, Paquetá informed West Ham has his intention to be negotiated with Flamengo in the next international window, scheduled for January. This movement put the Rio club on alert, as the player is a coveted piece on the market and maintains a strong emotional connection with the red and black fans.
FLAMENGO OBSERVES FROM A FAR
While Flamengoevaluates strategies to facilitate Paquetá's return, another Brazilian club also entered the dispute. Botafogo, leader of the Brasileirão and under the management of John Textor, approached West Ham by offering Igor Jesus as a bargaining chip. The proposal came after the accident of striker Michail Antonio, who left the English team in search of reinforcements in the sector offensive.
DO NOT LEAVE FOR BOTAFOGO
Despite the black and white interest, Lucas Paquetá made it clear that his desire is to wear the Flamengo. The player, who has been an avowed fan of the club since childhood, has already publicly declared his ambition to win important titles with Rubro-Negro. The strong emotional connection and support from the fans make Flamengo the priority destination in the midfielder's view.
Botafogo, in turn, did not give up on involving Paquetá in negotiations. The exchange proposal involving Igor Jesus signals that the Rio club is willing to invest heavily to strengthen its squad next season, but faces the obstacle of convincing the player himself.
The full-back suffered a muscle injury in his left calf and the organization already knows whether or not he will be able to count on the Mengão player at the FIFA Date.

Flamengo has completed the sale of Matheus Gonçalves to Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli for €8 million (R$50 million). The midfielder had been playing for the U-20 team after losing his place under coach Filipe Luís and was a starter in the U-20 team's Intercontinental Cup triumph.
This wasn't the first offer Flamengo had received for the player, but it was the most advantageous. Before Al-Ahli, Cruzeiro and CSKA Moscow (Russia) had shown interest and made official offers for the player.

Filipe Luís on Flamengo vs. Grêmio: "It's good to cut that expectation"
After the historic 8-0 win over Vitória last weekend, coach Filipe Luís praised the team's performance, but asked for caution regarding expectations for the next game and highlighted that there will be difficulties against the tricolor.
"If the fans come to Grêmio expecting another 8-0, they'll end up booing. It's good to temper that expectation. The fans have to come to support the team. It won't be easy. But if the celebration is like today and the players are having a great day, it could be special . We have to keep our feet on the ground; we're a long way from achieving anything," the coach stated.
With 46 points, Flamengo leads the Brazilian Championship, with 14 wins, four draws and only two losses . Next in line are Palmeiras, with 42 points and one game less, followed by Cruzeiro (41) and Bahia (36).
