An old interview by Rodolfo Landim goes viral on social media. Angry fans charge Flamengo's president of football about his promises. The club's board is being heavily pressured by the Nation due to terrible results throughout the 2023 season.
A Flamengo fan posted a video from five years ago on his social networks, in which Landim makes statements about what it means to be club president and even makes some promises. The Red-Black director, at the time, was in the process of applying for the position he currently occupies at the club.
The video was published this Sunday afternoon and already has more than 700,000 views and 11,000 likes in less than 24 hours. The red-black took a part of Landim's interview and alternated the images of the time with his own reactions. The original excerpt is from the program "Aqui com Benja" on Fox Sports. The interview was conducted in November 2018.
"Never believe that, when something goes wrong in a company, it's not the president's fault", says Landim to the interviewer. That speech alone is enough to fire the Red-Black Nation, which, in recent weeks, has been asking for the professional to leave office.
In addition, the president still completes: "the example comes from above and the charge comes from above". That is, if there is no result or good performance, it is because, in his opinion, there are no good standards within the club itself, which includes, in the current situation, him and the Vice President of Football, Marcos Braz.
He still believes that it is "lack of pressure" and "tolerance for bad results" that lead to "mediocrity". "Mediocrity is what I mean in the strictest sense of the word: being average", he explains, almost summarizing what Flamengo's 2023 season is, in which he wastes opportunities and barely sustains himself.
Furthermore, according to the president, reaching the point of mediocrity is also a result of "people not understanding the greatness of Flamengo and the importance of Flamengo"!
