Even with Corinthians' declared interest in definitively acquiring the rights to goalkeeper Hugo Souza, Flamengo maintains a firm stance in negotiations . The red-black club rejected the financial guarantees presented by the black and white team, which has slowed down the progress of the business. Timão, which has already had its goalkeeper on loan since July, is looking for a solution before the decisive clash between the two teams in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil, which will take place this Sunday (20).
Flamengo, in turn, is not willing to facilitate Hugo Souza's departure without financial compensation before the match. Flamengo's refusal in relation to the guarantees presented meant that the club included in the contract a fine of R$ 500,000, if the goalkeeper is selected in the duel against the Rio team. This clause has already been activated the other two times that Corinthians and Flamengo faced each other, which shows Rubro-Negro's strategy in protecting its interests.
The club agrees to receive the compensation stipulated in the contract or, at least, the advance of a part of the amount that the Corinthians must pay for acquisition of the player's economic rights. This would give Flamengo more security in relation to the asset, while Corinthians seeks to gain time to adjust the financial terms of the negotiation.
The loan agreement between the parties establishes that Corinthians pays for 60% of Hugo Souza's economic rights in four semi-annual installments, with payments scheduled to begin January. However, the board of Flamengo does not want to wait until next year to receive part of the amount. The club considers that, until payment begins, the athlete remains its asset, which justifies charging fine every time the goalkeeper plays for Corinthians.

The situation generates some tension between the parties, as Corinthians want to count on Hugo Souza in this weekend's decisive game. Timão, in turn, is trying to renegotiate the conditions imposed by Flamengo, seeking to adjust the terms to avoid paying the fine or guarantee the definitive acquisition of the player in a more agile manner. The expectation is that the outcome will be positive.
The striker was officially reported by the STJD on Friday and could be preventively suspended, in addition to being banned from football for up to two years.

The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) Prosecutor's Office has charged Flamengo striker Bruno Henrique with alleged match-fixing. In response, the number 27's defense issued a statement to the 'Coluna do Fla' portal, refuting the accusation.

Flamengo's transfer window isn't over yet . Football director José Boto is still looking for two specific reinforcements to further strengthen the squad led by Filipe Luís . The club has already signed five players, but the board believes there are still gaps to be filled. This information comes from the 'GE' portal.
The main movement continues to be for Fiorentina striker Lucas Beltrán . A deal with the Italian club is already in place, and now the only thing left to do is convince the player. The Argentine, who was initially reluctant about a return to South American football, is beginning to welcome the club's offer .
In addition to a striker, Flamengo is seeking another defender. The need has been evident in recent games. With Danilo injured, only Léo Ortiz and Léo Pereira remain as reliable options . Since Filipe Luís rarely uses the youngsters from the youth academy, the starting duo's fatigue has been noticeable—especially in the Copa do Brasil match against Atlético-MG, where their physical and mental fatigue was evident in the goal conceded. Although he was the first signing by Flamengo in this transfer window, midfielder Jorge Carrascal was the last to show up in Rio de Janeiro . According to the 'GE' portal, the last document signed by the Russian club arrived at Flamengo late in the afternoon of this Friday (1st). With that, the official announcement of the player will be made in the coming days, after the conclusion of pending procedures with Atlético-MG.
The reason for the delay was that Dynamo Moscow, his former club, took too long to complete the necessary paperwork for the transfer . The Russian team only released the Colombian after signing Rubens from Atlético-MG as a replacement.
At Dynamo's request, Flamengo will participate in the payment to Atlético-MG for Rubens' acquisition. Thus, a significant portion of the €12 million (R$77 million) invested by Carrascal will go to the Minas Gerais club.
Despite being in Rio since Wednesday, Carrascal has not yet been regularized with the CBF, which prevents him from playing in the next matches — against Ceará, this Sunday (3), for the Brasileirão, and against Atlético-MG, Wednesday (7), for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The registration deadlines for both matches have already expired.
The Colombian's debut is scheduled for August 9th against Mirassol at Maracanã, in the final round of the first half of the Brazilian Championship . Having been training regularly and playing for Dinamo, Carrascal is expected to be available to Filipe Luís as soon as he is officially confirmed. He has already passed the medical exams but will only be able to train with the club after being registered.
