Uruguayan newspaper declares itself to Flamengo's Arrascaeta

Midfielder Erick Pulgar may be close to returning to Flamengo . Between Thursday (11) and Friday (12), the player will undergo a CT scan to evaluate the fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, suffered at the end of June. The exam will be decisive in defining the stage of recovery and the deadline for returning to the field.

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?

The analysis will show the medical department the degree of bone healing . There are two possible scenarios:

• If the fracture heals, Pulgar will begin the final phase of physical reconditioning and transition to the field. He is expected to need about three weeks to regain optimal fitness and be available for Filipe Luís.
• If there is no complete consolidation: conservative treatment will continue, with physiotherapy and strengthening sessions, with no immediate return date.

HOW WAS THE FLEECE INJURY?

The Chilean midfielder was injured on June 29th during Flamengo 's match against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup. Days later, he underwent surgery in Chile and has since followed a strict recovery protocol.

A starter before his injury, Pulgar has been missing from the squad's rotation. Despite the strong partnership between Saúl and Jorginho, the coaching staff considers the Chilean a key player in maintaining the midfield's competitiveness.

Saturday (6) was a day of preparation at Ninho do Urubu during the FIFA break. During the training, coach Filipe Luís received great news : Jorginho completed the second consecutive day of training on the field and should be available for the next match.

The Italian-Brazilian was absent from the team in recent rounds after feeling pain in his thigh during the 8-0 thrashing of Vitória. After being rested against Grêmio, he returned to training normally this week and is cleared to face Juventude, next Sunday (14), in the Brasileirão.

ALEX SANDRO IS THE HOPE OF ANOTHER RETURN

In addition to Jorginho, Flamengo is also awaiting the recovery of Alex Sandro . The full-back suffered a left calf injury in the first half against Vitória and did not play in the 1-1 draw against Grêmio at Maracanã.

Since then, he has been undergoing intensive treatment in the medical department. The FIFA World Cup break is expected to help his progress, but his appearance against Juventude still depends on his response in the coming days.

DRILLER IN CIANORTE

Signed mid-year, Hernane has nine appearances and one goal for the club. He's expected to start the decision on the bench, but his experience remains an asset for coach Rafael Ferro. "Ferro made it clear that if I see something, I should pass it on to him and help. It's his first job, and he's subject to trial and error . We always want to play, but we understand the importance of having an experienced player in the squad to serve as a role model for the younger players," commented the center forward.

Hernane plans to retire in 2026 and is already studying to become a coach. Until then, he aims to add to his list of achievements. Despite having played for several clubs, the striker left his mark on Flamengo , where he won the 2013 Copa do Brasil and the 2014 Carioca Championship. With the Manto, he played 86 matches and scored 45 goals.
