The beginning of Filipe Luís's career as a coach at Flamengo has excited not only the fans, but also those who experience the club's day-to-day life. José Boto, technical director of Rubro-Negro, participated in MengoCast this Friday (4) and revealed behind the scenes of the partnership with the former full-back, in addition to openly praising his vision of football.
One of the most striking parts of the interview was the comparison between Filipe Luís and Jorge Jesus. The two worked together at Benfica and, according to Boto, there are many similarities between them. “They both live football intensely, almost 24 hours a day. This passion is something that naturally unites them,” he said. Despite this, the director makes a point of pointing out the differences and reveals a preference for some of the new coach’s ideas.
"Filipe Luís is very restless, from the point of view of knowledge," said Boto.
Despite his fondness for Jorge Jesus ' work, José Boto says he identifies more with the way Filipe Luís organizes his team. "I like the way he proposes the game, especially in attack. He controls the game better and is more patient in the build-up," he explained. For the manager, these nuances give CRF its own, modern identity under its new commander.
Despite the affinity, differences of opinion do happen — and, for Boto , this is extremely healthy. “When we disagree, we are forced to explain our point of view better. This elevates the debate, makes everyone grow. This is something I see as positive,” he said. Sesc Flamengo began training with the full squad for the 2025/26 season of the Women's Superliga this Monday (15). The last athletes to show up were Helena Wenk, Laís, Lorena, Tainara and Masa Kirov, who were competing in international tournaments for the Brazilian and Serbian national teams.
During their time with their national teams, several players achieved significant achievements. Helena, Laís, Lorena, and Tainara won silver in the Nations League and bronze at the World Cup with the Brazilian national team. Tainara also shone, winning bronze at the U-21 World Cup . Masa Kirov represented Serbia in competitions such as the VNL, the U-21 World Cup, and the adult World Cup.

Estudiantes announced this Monday (15) two confirmed absences for the match against Flamengo , valid for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores. The match is scheduled for this Thursday, at Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro . The return game will be held seven days later, in Argentina.
The first player to be out is 33-year-old defender González Pírez , a River Plate youth product. The defender suffered a Grade 3 hamstring injury in his right thigh and is expected to be out for at least a month , ruling him out of both matches against the red-and-blacks.
Without further ado, coach Eduardo Domínguez confirmed that Santiago Núñez will replace González Pírez . The defender had already replaced his injured teammate in the match against River Plate and scored Estudiantes' only goal in the 2-1 defeat.
The club expects to maintain defensive consistency even without its regular starter . The Argentine coach has emphasized in previous interviews the importance of maintaining tactical discipline to balance the match against Flamengo at Maracanã.

During an institutional event in La Plata, Verón highlighted the financial difference between the teams , with Mengão being the team with the highest market value among the tournament participants, but recalled Estudiantes ' tradition of overcoming opponents considered favorites.
