Rafinha, a defender who played for Flamengo in 2019, revealed the behind-the-scenes of his negotiations with the club and how he came to consider a football proposal Arabic before opting for Mengão. After eight years at Bayern Munich, where he played 266 matches, the player decided to return to Brazil with the aim of being closer to his family and seeking new challenges.
— I wish my family could follow me more closely. It was a mix of emotions. I left Bayern and came to Flamengo. Nobody imagined it would work. The probability was 50/50. But then I said: “I'm going because I want to win” — commented Rafinha in an interview with the DenilsonShow podcast.
BEHIND THE NEGOTIATION: ARABIAN PROPOSAL AND PREFERENCE FOR FLAMENGO
Before signing a contract with Flamengo, Rafinha received a tempting offer from Arab football. The negotiation was mediated by a friend of former Bayern teammate Franck Ribery.
— An Arab friend of Ribery called me and He said I would be the first to be signed for Arab football. Ribery commented that he would only go if I went too. Meanwhile, Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel were at my house negotiating. I explained the situation to them, but reaffirmed my preference for Flamengo. When I signed the contract, I realized how much prestige I would have at Mengão, something I hadn't experienced even in 14 years playing in Europe — revealed Rafinha.
A SHORT, BUT VICTORIOUS, CAREER AT FLAMENGO
In just over a year at Flamengo, Rafinha played 46 matches and collected important titles. With the red and black shirt, he won six trophies: two Brazilian Championships, the Copa Libertadores, the Supercopa do Brasil, the Recopa Sul-Americana and the Campeonato Carioca. His contribution was essential to the club's historic campaign in 2019.
When reflecting on his time, Rafinha highlighted the impact of the fans and of the environment in Flamengo. — What I experienced in the CRF in a few weeks was something I never experienced in years in Germany. It's an experience I'll cherish forever.

Flamengo idol Adriano Imperador stated in an interview that he played more than some of the biggest names in world football. With a career marked by talent, physical strength, and humility , "Didico" continues to be fondly remembered by Flamengo fans.
During an appearance on the show Boteco do Chula, Adriano was asked if he had performed at a higher level than stars like Ronaldo, Romário, Ibrahimovic, Mbappé, Lewandowski, and Gabigol . The former player candidly stated that he considers himself superior to some of them.
In the Emperor's opinion, Kyllian Mbappé, Robert Lewandowski, and Gabigol are behind him . However, according to Adriano himself, Romário, Ibrahimovic , and Ronaldo Fenômeno are in a higher tier.
Adriano's most significant connection with the club came in the 2009 Brazilian Championship . During that campaign, the striker played in 30 of the 38 rounds, scoring 19 goals and contributing four assists. With him on the field, the team recorded 15 wins, seven draws, and eight losses. This victory was decisive not only for the club's recent history, but also for the Emperor's career.
Adriano recalls that title as the greatest moment of his career on the field. In a recent interview with GE, he highlighted the team's unity as a determining factor in winning the trophy: " Theoretically, I was down there, the team wasn't doing well. An unforgettable title for me. The group was very good. We really came together, and that made it possible for us to be champions, for sure ."
