Flamengo faces another problem in the squad with the confirmation of an injury to midfielder De la Cruz . The player felt pain in his knee during the classic against Botafogo, held last Sunday (18), for the Brazilian Championship , and had to leave the field in the second half. The diagnosis revealed a sprain in his left knee, which temporarily keeps him out of the team.
On Monday afternoon (19), the Rio de Janeiro club released an official update on the situation of the number 18: “ The athlete Nico De La Cruz, substituted in the second half of the classic between Flamengo and Botafogo, underwent an MRI exam on Monday afternoon (19), after suffering a sprain in his left knee. The exam ruled out surgical injuries. The player has already started treatment with the club's Medical Department .”
In addition to De la Cruz, Flamengo continues to deal with other relevant absences. Erick Pulgar and Allan are still recovering from muscle injuries in their right thigh, while Gonzalo Plata is treating a bone edema in his right knee and is only expected to return for the Club World Cup. Matías Viña is in the final stages of physical transition and may be available soon.
Even with the absences, the team from Gávea will have important commitments ahead. Next Wednesday (21), the opponent will be Botafogo-PB, for the Copa do Brasil, in a match scheduled for 9:30 pm (Brasília time). At the weekend, Rubro-Negro faces Palmeiras, on Sunday (25), at 4 pm, at Allianz Parque, for the Brazilian Championship.
The recurring injuries in the squad are a cause for concern for the coaching staff led by Filipe Luís, who have to deal with the physical instability of key players in the midst of a marathon of competitions . De la Cruz's absence represents yet another challenge in a sector already hampered by clinical problems.

Carlo Ancelotti made another change to the Brazilian national team. Following Kaio Jorge's injury, the Italian coach called up Andreas Pereira to fill his spot. The midfielder, recently signed by Palmeiras, has yet to make his debut for the São Paulo club and is only expected to wear the green and white jersey after the FIFA International Day .
Milly Lacombe on Andreas Pereira's call-up: "Good news for Flamengo"
The call-up was analyzed by Milly Lacombe, who raised doubts about Ancelotti's true purpose in making the selection. For the journalist, Andreas's direct departure for a game at the altitude of El Alto, against Bolivia, can be seen as both an opportunity and a detriment to the player .
"It's that kind of call-up where you don't know if Ancelotti is a fan or a hater. He wasn't in the first game, which was the most relaxed. Now he'll have to climb 4,000 meters and play in thin air ," he commented to UOL News.
Milly also linked Kaio Jorge's injury and Andreas' call-up to a supposed advantage for Flamengo : "Cruzeiro is out, because the national team has already injured Kaio Jorge. Good news for Flamengo, since Cruzeiro and Palmeiras are hot on their heels in the fight for the Brasileirão title ," the journalist concluded.
Despite the journalist's mention, it is worth remembering that Ancelotti has already called up several red-black athletes in his first list at the helm of Brazil , having been the team that provided the most players in the FIFA Data in May: Alex Sandro, Danilo, Léo Ortiz, Wesley and Gerson.
Alex Sandro was called up again in the current squad, but was ruled out due to injury. Following Matheus Cunha's injury, Samuel Lino , Flamengo's summer signing, was called up as a replacement . Wesley also appears, but now as a Roma player. Danilo is still recovering from his injuries, and Gerson has been relegated, having not played 90 minutes since the trip to Russia and being a substitute in the last match.
The Brazilian National Team faces Bolivia this Tuesday (9), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), in El Alto, in the final round of the Qualifiers. Already qualified, Ancelotti's team uses the last games as a period of observation and adjustments for the World Cup.

Striker Samuel Lino, a Flamengo star , made waves on social media this Saturday (6) when he scored a beautiful goal during the Brazilian National Team's training session at Granja Comary, in preparation for the match against Bolivia.
In the play, Flamengo's number 16 received a pass inside the box, took Vitinho (Botafogo) out with a quick touch and finished with his right foot , beating Hugo Souza, who was defending at the time. The play went viral , and Flamengo fans praised the player's talent, asking for more opportunities for him in the national team.
Signed for R$143 million, Samuel Lino is the most expensive signing in Flamengo 's history. Despite only playing nine games for Flamengo, he has already scored two goals and four assists, in addition to an above-average performance . His strong start caught the attention of Carlo Ancelotti, who called him up for the first time to represent Brazil.
The striker was a substitute in the 3-0 victory over Chile, at Maracanã, but could still make his debut on this FIFA Date . Brazil faces Bolivia on Tuesday (9), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), in the last round of the Qualifiers.
Among Flamengo's players on international duty, Arrascaeta stood out, scoring a stunning goal and playing a key role in Uruguay's victory over Peru . Varela also shone, providing an assist and contributing to another goal. Viña and Carrascal, however, did not take to the field.
Everyone still has commitments for the 18th round of the South American Qualifiers:

The Brazilian National Team's first training session for the final round of the World Cup Qualifiers took place this Saturday (6), in Teresópolis, in cold temperatures of 16°C, rain and even fog. Coach Carlo Ancelotti made important changes, including the presence of Lucas Paquetá and Fabrício Bruno , both revealed by Flamengo, in the starting lineup.
The activity took place on a reduced field and without goalkeepers, with the focus already on the match against Bolivia, at the altitude of El Alto, a city located 4,100 meters above sea level . This will be the Italian coach's first time leading a team in such conditions.
During the training session, Ancelotti fielded the team with: Wesley, Gabriel Magalhães, Fabrício Bruno, and Caio Henrique; Bruno Guimarães, Jean Lucas, Andrey Santos, and Lucas Paquetá; Raphinha and Richarlison . During training, the coach also made changes, such as the introduction of Vitinho in Wesley's place.
With the national team already qualified for the World Cup, the Italian coach will be observing the final two rounds. Even so, Ancelotti assured that the group is focused on beating the Bolivians , maintaining the goal of preparing the players for the World Cup.
A definite absence for Brazil is Casemiro. Suspended for his third yellow card, received in the 3-0 victory over Chile, the midfielder was released from training camp and will not participate in training at Granja Comary.
Playing in the second half against Chile, Paquetá scored in less than a minute , helped control the match, and directly contributed to the third goal. The performance made a great impression on Ancelotti, who praised the midfielder's versatility.
"Obviously, Paquetá, because of his quality, needs to be here. He can play in different ways. Yesterday he played as a wide midfielder , but he wouldn't have a problem playing as a second midfielder or even as a first, because he has great ball handling skills," the coach highlighted.
