Former Flamengo goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes has once again become the target of controversy due to his failure to pay child support for Bruninho, the son he had with Eliza Samudio, who was murdered on the orders of the former athlete.
This is because, in an interview with the newspaper O Tempo, Sônia Moura, mother of the former model, stated that Bruno has not made any payment of the pension amounts since September 2022 , accumulating almost three years of debt.
According to Sônia, the amount established by the court is equivalent to two monthly minimum wages: "Since then, there has been no payment of any kind," she said. The current bill, without monetary correction, is around R$90,000— a similar amount to the amount Bruno paid off after an online crowdfunding campaign in 2022.
At the time, the Mato Grosso do Sul Court ordered the arrest of Bruno , who had raised around R$24,000 via the internet and sold his car to pay off the debt, which led to the order being revoked.
Sônia also stated that, since the case returned to Rio de Janeiro, the state where she and Bruno currently reside, progress has been stagnant: "When I lived in Mato Grosso do Sul and the case was moved there, the case was moving forward, that's when Bruninho received the final settlement amount. Then the case came back here (Rio de Janeiro) and is stalled, I don't know why ," she stated.
In contact with O TEMPO, attorney Mariana Migliorini , who represents the goalkeeper, said she was unaware of the three-year delay and stated that her client currently earns about two minimum wages, which would prevent him from paying higher amounts. As for the slowness of the process, she stated that this is a matter for the Rio de Janeiro judiciary.
