Real Madrid once again showed its strength in the UEFA Champions League by turning the game around against Bayern Munich and securing its place in the competition's final. With goals from Joselu in the 44th and 46th minutes of the second half, the Merengue team overcame the Germans and qualified for the grand final, which will be played in Wembley, London, on June 1st, against Borussia Dortmund.

After the 2-2 draw in the first leg, in Germany, where Vinícius Júnior scored both of Real Madrid's goals, the second leg, at the Santiago Bernabeu, was closely contested.

In the first half, the two teams studied each other a lot and created few chances to score. However, the star trained in Flamengo's youth divisions, Vinícius Júnior, had an outstanding performance, demanding several saves from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

In the second stage, the game became more tense for Real Madrid when Alphonso Davies opened the scoring for Bayern in the 23rd minute, with a beautiful cross from the left. However, Real Madrid's story at the Bernabeu proved decisive once again.

Joselu, who came on for Valverde in the 36th minute of the second half, was the hero of the comeback. In the 44th minute, he tied the match with an assist from Vinícius Júnior. At 46, he turned the game around by supporting Rudiguer's cross. The VAR checked the offside, but confirmed the goal, as Joselu was behind the line of the ball.

With this victory, Real Madrid continues in search of its 15th Champions League trophy. Vinícius Júnior, who scored the decisive goal in the final against Liverpool in 2022, will have another opportunity to shine in the second final of his career.

Belgian player Kevin De Bruyne, one of Manchester City's main names, made scathing criticisms of the new format of the Club Super World Cup, a competition that will be played in 2025 and will feature the participation of 32 teams, including Brazilians Flamengo, Fluminense and Palmeiras. The tournament, which will have a similar format to the World Cup, did not please the player due to the overload of games and the impact on the athletes' calendar.

In a press conference, De Bruyne expressed his dissatisfaction with the short interval between the end of the Club World Cup and the start of the Premier League season. "The problem will come when the Club World Cup ends. We will only have three weeks between the final and the first round of the Premier League. There are three weeks to take a vacation and prepare to play more than 80 games. Maybe it will work this year, but it will be a problem the following year", warned the player.

The Belgian midfielder's concern extends to the increasing number of matches that athletes need to play in various competitions throughout the season, affecting performance so much regarding the physical well-being of the players.

LACK OF SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM

De Bruyne also criticized FIFA and UEFA for not listening to the concerns of the players and their associations: “The PFA (Professional Players Association) in England and unions in other countries tried to find solutions. The problem is that UEFA and FIFA play more matches, and we tried to say something, but no solution was found. They don't care. It seems that money speaks louder than players", he said.

COMPETITION DEFINED FOR 2025

FIFA has already announced the dates of the Club Super World Cup, which will begin on June 15, 2025 and will conclude on July 13 of the same year. The competition promises to bring together great teams from different continents, providing an unprecedented format with 32 participants.

Brazilian clubs Flamengo, Fluminense and Palmeiras guaranteed a place in the tournament as they were the last champions of the Copa Libertadores da América, with Flamengo winning the title in 2022.

It is an extremely educational and important action for maintaining stocks”, declared Dr. Renata de Almeida, a Hemorio doctor present at the action.

With the final stretch of the 2024 season approaching, Flamengo faces an important challenge after the injury to Pedro, who suffered a ruptured ligament in his left knee. The club's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, stated in an interview with "Fla TV" that he will discuss with coach Tite and his committee the possibility of seeking a new reinforcement to make up for the striker's absence.

The Flamengo see you next time Tuesday (stipulated deadline) to regularize any player who may play for the team this season. However, the options available are limited, as only athletes without a contract can be signed outside the transfer window. Braz highlighted the difficulties in finding suitable names on the market.

"The window is practically over, and the restrictions are enormous in making a signing at this time. After the window closes, it is only possible to sign players who were already without a contract before closing. This greatly reduces the options", explained the manager.

INTERNAL OPTIONS FOR THE POSITION

Despite speculation about possible hiring, Marcos Braz highlighted that The red and black squad already has alternatives for the position. Flamengo has, in addition to Gabigol, who must take responsibility in the attack, other players who can perform the role, such as Carlinhos and Bruno Henrique, who can also be improvised as a center forward.

"We have three players who can play in this position. Gabigol has always solved our problems, we have Carlinhos and Bruno Henrique, who can play the role of 9. We will analyze calmly until Tuesday and decide what is best for Flamengo", concluded Braz.
