The removal of the statue of Daniel Alves from the municipality of Juazeiro, Bahia, was recommended by the state Public Ministry (MP), last Tuesday (23), following the conviction of the former athlete for the crime of rape in Barcelona, in Spain. The statue is located on Rua Aprígio Duarte, in the city center. The request made by the MP is based on the law that prohibits paying tributes to living people with public good.
Residents of the city of Juazeiro, in Bahia, the place where Daniel Alves was born, had even demanded that the statue made in honor of the player be removed by the city hall. The movement took place after the player's conviction, in February, after the result of the athlete's trial was published.
The work was inaugurated in 2020 and has already been vandalized on at least two occasions, since the defender was arrested in January 2023. In a statement, the city of Juazeiro stated that it was not thinking about removing the statue from the city at this first moment and reinforced that she was busy with more urgent demands.
Daniel Alves was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in the Sutton nightclub, in Barcelona, at the end of 2022. sentence came two weeks later at the end of the trial. The defense of the former player from Barcelona (ESP), Paris Saint-Germain (FRA), Juventus (ITA), São Paulo and the Brazilian team stated that they will appeal the first instance decision at the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) and in the Supreme Court of Spain.
Daniel Alves' trial lasted three days and ended on February 7, when the former athlete gave testimony, with the participation of 28 witnesses, including Lucia Alves, mother of the former player. At the time, Daniel Alves cried a lot and stated that the sexual relationship had been with consent. He was able to post bail and is living on probation.

Striker Vini Jr. caught the attention on social media this Wednesday (24) when he published a photo during a bicycle training session . What intrigued his followers the most, however, was not the exercise, but the ring that the player was wearing on his left hand.
The detail rekindled rumors about a possible involvement between the Real Madrid star, a Flamengo product, and businesswoman and presenter Virginia Fonseca , who recently separated from singer Zé Felipe, with whom she has three children.
In recent days, internet users have noticed coincidences that have fueled speculation. Virginia recorded videos in a gym in Madrid, very similar to the space where Vini Jr. usually trains. On another occasion, she appeared in a room with a chandelier identical to the one in the player's home in the Spanish capital. In early September, the two had already been seen together on a luxury yacht.
Virginia about Vini Jr: "he is a wonderful person"
In an interview with journalist Lucas Pasin of Metrópoles, Virginia was asked about her closeness with the player . Without confirming or denying a relationship, she responded with laughter and measured her words before answering:
"Wonderful Vini, he's a wonderful person, anyone who knows him knows he's truly an exemplary boy , a top guy. And I'm impartial, friend, do you know when you're single?" he declared, quickly changing the subject.

Living a special moment on and off the field, Arrascaeta received great news in his personal life : Flamengo's number 10 will be a father for the first time . This Monday (1st), the star revealed that his wife Camila Bastiani is pregnant with a boy.
On social media, the couple posted the news with the caption: "We're waiting for you, son," accompanied by a blue heart, symbolizing the baby's gender . The pregnancy had already been announced on June 30, indicating that the Flamengo midfielder's son is at least three months old.
The arrival of his first child comes during one of the most memorable years of Arrascaeta's career. By 2025, the Uruguayan has 17 goals and 13 assists in 42 games, figures that put him close to equaling his career-best scoring record for Flamengo , set in 2019 with 18 goals. In terms of assists, his goal is to surpass the 19 he recorded in both 2019 and 2022.
Last Sunday (31), against Grêmio, the number 10 shone again. After exchanging passes with Pedro, he gave a subtle touch, almost like a "snooker shot", leaving no chance for goalkeeper Tiago Volpi . Despite the beauty of the goal, the afternoon ended in a draw, as the opposing goalkeeper himself converted the penalty that decreed the 1-1 draw at Maracanã.
Now, Arrascaeta focuses on defending the Uruguayan National Team in the World Cup Qualifiers . The next commitment will be on Thursday (4), against Peru, at the Centenario Stadium, in Montevideo. Next, on September 9, Uruguay faces Chile, in Santiago.
In a comfortable position in the standings, La Celeste needs just one point out of a possible six to mathematically confirm its place in the World Cup. So far, Argentina, Ecuador, and Brazil have already secured their place , while Chile is the only team with no chance of qualifying.
