With an overwhelming start followed by a "blackout" after the break, Flamengo suffered a surprising defeat to Bauru, marking their fifth defeat in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). On the night of this Tuesday (19), Rubro-Negro visited Ginásio Panela de Pressão and was defeated by 74 to 72, despite the excellent performance of

After being defeated by Bauru, Flamengo had its undefeated streak interrupted and lost the NBB leadership to Franca. Considering the Super 8 Cup, NBB and Champions League of the Americas, the team led by Gustavinho de Conti had not known defeat for 16 games. Mengão had not suffered a defeat since January 13th, when they were beaten by Pato Basquete.

As the Novo Basquete Brasil regular season approaches its end, Flamengo prepares for the great classic national against Franca. The confrontation between the NBB leaders is scheduled for Thursday (21), at 8 pm (Brasília time), in São Paulo. With a victory, Mengão regains the lead.

FLAMENGO BLACKOUT

Unrecognizable, Flamengo saw its offensive system collapsed, combined with a defense incapable of stopping Bauru, which resulted in the opponent's turnaround to 57x55, in a 21x11 run in the third period.

The last quarter started in the same way, with Flamengo struggling to score around the rim. In the first three minutes, the team only managed to convert one basket, allowing the opponent to open a four-point lead. However, Fla regained focus and returned to prioritizing the internal game, managing to turn the match around with four minutes remaining.

With just 12 seconds remaining, Bauru opened a three-point lead. On the next possession, Mengão made a quick basket and stopped Bauru with a foul, taking Larry to the free throw line with 5.5 seconds left. The point guard missed one of the free throws, but Flamengo committed a turnover in the last attack and ended up losing the match.

The Argentine winger Martín Cuello will not continue at Flamengo. The player announced that his intention is to return to the Argentine National League or compete in the Uruguayan League, where he already played for Club Malvin in 2021.

Cuello, who is known by his nickname "Loku", arrived at Flamengo had high expectations, but his time at the Brazilian club was relatively short. With the red and black shirt, Cuello had good moments, but was unable to establish himself as one of the team's main players. The decision not to continue at Flamengo seems to be more related to his personal plans and the search for new opportunities in his career.

FLAMENGO IS RESCUED

Martín Cuello arrived at Flamengo as a promising reinforcement . The player, 1.92m tall, is known for his versatility on the court and ability to play both wing and point guard positions. His experience in South American leagues, including his time at Club Malvin in Uruguay, led to the expectation that he could add value to the Flamengo squad.

During his stay at Flamengo, Cuello participated in several competitions, including the NBB (New Basketball Brazil). However, he failed to stand out consistently and ended up not having the impact expected by the board and fans. Despite this, Cuello demonstrated professionalism and dedication, characteristics that are valued in the sporting world.
