On the afternoon of last Sunday (21), Flamengo faced Corinthians, in a match valid for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship, at Maracanã. The team led by Jorge Sampaoli, however, performed below expectations and, despite having suffered pressure from their rival, scored the winning goal in the last minutes. It is important to highlight that Léo Pereira felt discomfort in his right thigh in the final stretch of the match and signaled it to the technical committee. The player ended up falling to the pitch, but as Sampaoli had already run out of stops to make substitutions, it was not possible to remove the defender. With that, the coach ordered the athlete to act as a center forward. Minutes later, to the joy of the Argentine coach, the defender and the Nation, the red and black goal came along with the victory.

Flamengo, this time, focuses in the Copa Libertadores da América dispute. Next Wednesday (24), Mais Querido will face Ñublense (CHI), starting at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in a game valid for the fourth round of the group stage of the continental tournament. The match will take place at the Municipal Stadium of Concepción, in Chile.

Após garantir a classificação para a grande decisão da Copa Intercontinental 2025, o Flamengo já vira a chave para o desafio final. O adversário será o Paris Saint-Germain, atual campeão da UEFA Champions League, que fará sua estreia na competição. Na zona mista do Estádio Ahmad Bin Ali, o lateral Guillermo Varela, conversou com a imprensa e demonstrou otimismo para o confronto histórico.
Em entrevista ao ‘Grupo Globo’, Varela foi sincero ao comentar a trajetória do Rubro-Negro até a final. O defensor admitiu que a sequência de jogos cobrou um preço físico alto do elenco. "Seguimos na luta pelo troféu mais importante. Foi um jogo complicado, muito desgaste. E na partida passada também houve um desgaste muito grande", avaliou.
O lateral também fez questão de elogiar os adversários superados, ressaltando que o caminho não foi fácil. "O Cruz Azul tinha um bom time, e o Pyramids nos surpreendeu em alguns aspectos, mas conseguimos a vitória", completou. As declarações de Leila Pereira voltaram a colocar Flamengo e Palmeiras no centro do debate sobre os principais títulos da temporada. Neste domingo (14), a presidente do clube paulista comentou a disputa direta entre as equipes no Brasileirão e na Libertadores e atribuiu ao próprio Alviverde a perda das conquistas.

Em entrevista à Record News, a dirigente evitou responsabilizar o rival e assumiu a culpa pelos resultados: “Claro que nós gostaríamos de ter conquistado os títulos. O Brasileiro esteve muito próximo, a Libertadores também. Infelizmente, por culpa nossa, não vou terceirizar responsabilidades. Não perdemos para o nosso adversário, mas sim para nós mesmos”, afirmou Leila Pereira.
Ao contrário do que disse Leila Pereira, o Flamengo venceu todos os jogos que fez contra o Palmeiras no ano. No Campeonato Brasileiro, o Mengão e o Alviverde travaram uma disputa acirrada desde as primeiras rodadas. O time paulista chegou a liderar a competição em alguns momentos, mas o Rubro-Negro retomou a ponta na reta final e confirmou a conquista do título nacional. Não restam dúvidas de que Giorgian de Arrascaeta atravessa o ponto mais alto da carreira. Aos 31 anos, o camisa 10 vive em 2025 a melhor temporada desde que se tornou profissional, com números que superam todos os seus registros anteriores. Na Copa Intercontinental, inclusive, o desempenho ganhou contornos ainda mais especiais.
Nos confrontos contra Cruz Azul e Pyramids, o uruguaio marcou dois gols e distribuiu duas assistências, participando diretamente de todos os gols do Flamengo na competição. A influência foi total, reforçando o protagonismo em jogos decisivos.
Ainda resta um compromisso na temporada, a final contra o PSG, que vale o sonho do bicampeonato mundial. Mesmo assim, os números já impressionam independentemente do que acontecer no jogo derradeiro.
