On the afternoon of last Sunday (21), Flamengo faced Corinthians, in a match valid for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship, at Maracanã. The team led by Jorge Sampaoli, however, performed below expectations and, despite having suffered pressure from their rival, scored the winning goal in the last minutes. An unlikely hero, Léo Pereira, who had complained of discomfort in his left thigh, was responsible for giving Clube da Gávea a 1-0 victory.THE MATCH
The Mais Querido started the match with possession of the ball. In the 13th minute of the first half, Ayrton Lucas received the ball quickly on the right wing, tried to cross, but was blocked by Bruno Mendez, giving Rubro-Negro a corner. It is important to highlight that Léo Pereira felt discomfort in his right thigh in the final stretch of the match and signaled it to the technical committee. The player ended up falling to the pitch, but as Sampaoli had already run out of stops to make substitutions, it was not possible to remove the defender. With that, the coach ordered the athlete to act as a center forward. Minutes later, to the joy of the Argentine coach, the defender and the Nation, the red and black goal came along with the victory.

Flamengo, this time, focuses in the Copa Libertadores da América dispute. Next Wednesday (24), Mais Querido will face Ñublense (CHI), starting at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in a game valid for the fourth round of the group stage of the continental tournament. The match will take place at the Municipal Stadium of Concepción, in Chile.

O técnico Leonardo Jardim utilizou as últimas sessões de treino no Ninho do Urubu para tomar uma decisão importante sobre uma das posições mais disputadas do elenco do Flamengo: a lateral direita. Após avaliar o desempenho recente, o treinador português definiu a estratégia para a utilização de Guillermo Varela e Emerson Royal ao longo da temporada 2026.
A comissão técnica tem uma avaliação bastante positiva dos dois laterais. O Flamengo segue em preparação para enfrentar o Remo nesta quinta-feira (19), pela sétima rodada do Brasileirão. Às vésperas do confronto, um personagem do passado voltou aos holofotes: o ex-atacante Julio Cesar Uri Geller, que relembrou o último encontro entre as equipes pela competição nacional.

Revelado nas categorias de base do Flamengo, Uri Geller viveu um momento curioso em sua trajetória ao enfrentar justamente o clube que o formou. Na época, o atacante defendia o Remo e viu naquele duelo uma oportunidade decisiva para retomar espaço no cenário nacional e, quem sabe, voltar ao Rubro-Negro.
“Eu me concentrei duas semanas para esse jogo, porque era minha chance de voltar (para o Flamengo). Treinei muito e fui o melhor jogador em campo. Peguei meu grande amigo Rondinelli, eu estava daquele jeito, estava muito louco nesse jogo, e deu tudo certo”, disse o ex-atacante.
“Esse jogo foi muito importante, a passagem pelo Remo em si, para eu voltar ao Flamengo. Meu treinador no Remo era o Joubert Meira, ele deixou o clube em uma situação muito boa e foi para o Flamengo, me levando de volta. Aí depois já foi o Cláudio Coutinho”, concluiu Uri Geller, em entrevista ao GE.
O último duelo entre Flamengo e Remo pelo Brasileirão aconteceu em 2 de abril de 1978, em Belém, quando a competição ainda era chamada de Copa Brasil. Na ocasião, o time carioca levou a melhor e venceu por 1 a 0, com gol de Valdo.
Décadas depois, as equipes voltam a se enfrentar pela competição nacional. O confronto desta quinta-feira (19) será disputado no Maracanã, às 20h (horário de Brasília). A partida terá transmissão ao vivo pelo Premiere, no sistema de pay-per-view, e marca mais um capítulo da história entre Flamengo e Remo, agora em contextos completamente diferentes, mas ainda carregados de memória e tradição.
