OLIVINHA'S PASSAGE AT FLAMENGOOlivinha's career at Mais Querido began in 2002. After three spells With Rubro-Negro, the athlete won 25 titles with the club. During this period, he lifted 13 Cariocas, six Brazilians, three Super 8 Cups, two World Cups, one League of the Americas and one Champions League of the Americas.

Flamengo announced another signing for the basketball squad for the 2024/25 season this Thursday (26) . The club officially announced the arrival of 23-year-old center Ítalo Honorato, who will complete the team.
Graduated in Corinthians' youth categories, Ítalo is coming off his most impressive season in the national basketball elite. He played 28 games in the NBB 23/24 for Cerrado, averaging 5.5 minutes per game, recording 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. The athlete stood out in the Development League, where he has played for Corinthians, Paulistano, São Paulo and Sociedade Thalia.
As he had already reached the quota of three foreign players, Flamengo turned its focus to the national market in search of another pivot. The choice of Ítalo Honorato represents a bet on a young talent that can be used as needed. The pivot's contract with FlaBasquete runs until the end of the year.

Flamengo is in Group A of the tournament, along with Botafogo, while Caxias, Minas and Vasco make up Group B. This past Tuesday (17), Felipe Motta announced his departure from Flamengo through his social networks, after one season. Now, the athlete will defend Rubro-Negro's rival, Botafogo in NBB 2024/25.
Felipe was revealed as an athlete with great potential. The young man played for the Brazilian National Team's youth teams, went through the NBA Global Academy, the North American league's development program, and played for Fortaleza before arriving at Rubro-Negro last season. He was champion of the Super 8 Cup and was part of the runner-up in the NBB.
However, Felipe only had a few minutes on the court per game and very discreet numbers. The winger played 5 minutes on average per game and had the following statistics: 1.3 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists. The young man had more opportunities in LNb 2024 and did well in the fourth place campaign, but both parties reached an agreement and ended the relationship.

The biggest idol in Flamengo's history, Zico made it clear that he will never ask for the club's legendary number 10 shirt to be retired. Although no player in the current squad is using the number, after Gabigol missed this chance, Galinho stated that he is against the idea of preserving the number forever as a form of tribute.
In an interview with the channel “Faaaala, Craque !”, on YouTube, the former player highlighted how satisfying it is for a professional athlete to wear a shirt with such a historic number. Faced with comments about the absence of a player wearing Mengão's number 10, Zico declared his opinion:
“He really doesn't have the number 10. But I will never ask to remove the number, I am against that. If you took Pelé away, for example, you wouldn't be able to play, have the satisfaction of playing. I'm not worried about that. Football is not basketball”, said Galinho.

Gabigol “inherited” the number after the retirement of Diego Ribas, at the end of 2022. The striker wore the legendary shirt in 72 matches, being a starter in 47 of them.
