Marcos Braz criticized journalists and the coverage that has been done since the elimination in the Libertadores. Flamengo's deputy director of Football implied that rumors and speculation about the club's internal divisions are the fault of the press. Braz said everyone's emotional situation is volatile and that "it's not fair" what's going on.

"I don't think it's fair or correct to be systematic on every side that has a division," Braz told journalists this Sunday night (13) after the game between Flamengo and São Paulo. Although the match at Maracanã was for the Brasileirão, the vice president was still attached to media issues about the recent elimination in Libertadores.

O Mais Querido lost last Thursday (10) the return game against Olimpia (PAR) for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. The result ended up eliminating the team from the competition, generating a great commotion on the part of the fans and the media, who tried to understand what would have weakened the current South American champion to the point of being eliminated suddenly.

As pointed out in the speech above, Braz believes that the supposed 'cast and coaching staff divisions' are being reported only because of recent failures. This "systematic issue" that the director cites would be related to an approach by journalists to try to get 'unfair' internal information: "I think it's not fair, because a week ago there were exactly the same journalists who cover Flamengo and there was no such issue systematically."

The vice president also added to these criticisms and comments the emotional issue: "It is an environment in which everyone is sad, some more, others less, some feel more and others feel less. It's fair." Even with the suffering of the players and the entire club with the early elimination of the Libertadores, it should be mentioned that the internal divisions of the team, mainly in relation to coach Sampaoli, began to be reported before last Thursday (10th).

Various information about the indisposition of the cast has been transmitted to the public in the last few weeks, especially after the incident of aggression against Pedro. In the process of deviating from the subject, Braz also minimized the questions asked about the internal climate at Flamengo.

The game against São Paulo ended in a draw (1-1) this Sunday (13). The result adds another match without wins for Mengão. In addition to the failure against Olimpia on Thursday (10), the team from Rio also lost terribly against Cuiabá for the Brasileirão more than a week ago, on Sunday (03).

"Respect is the feeling..." Flamengo has Tite's words echoed behind the scenes with the fans

In an interview given after the defeat of Flamengoto Peñarol, 1-0, coach Tite was direct in responding to the boos received by the fans. The statement, marked by a frank tone, exposed the coach's pragmatic vision in relation to demanding fans and the pressure for results. “I respect the fans’ feelings. Of course I feel that (the boos), I'm human”, said Tite, recognizing the fans' frustration in the face of the setback.

Tite's speech reveals that he understands the role of fans as a fundamental part in the context of a club, especially in a team of great expression like Flamengo. By mentioning that the boos affect him as a human being, the coach demonstrates empathy, but does not fail to highlight that the only way to reverse this situation is with achievements on the field. “It can only be reversed in one way”, pointed out the coach.

THE MISTAKE THAT COSTED EXTREMELY DEARLY

The response reflects the experience of Titein dealing with pressure who follows the command of great teams in Brazilian football. With successful spells at clubs such as Corinthians, Grêmio and the Brazilian national team itself, the coach has a track record that puts him in a position to understand, perhaps like few others, the relationship between performance on the field and fans' expectations. For him, this connection is clear: “Do you know how to win fans? Do you know how I won over the fans of the other clubs I played for? Win an important title”, he declared.

The phrase highlights the centrality of titles in football, especially in mass clubs like Flamengo. In Brazil, the culture of results is intense, and Tite recognizes that fans have a limited tolerance for negative results. Winning titles, for him, is the key to gaining the support of the fans, and anything other than that results in discontent: “If not, bye.”

This last part of Tite's speech summarizes the characteristic impatience of demanding fans like Flamengo. The coach makes it clear that, without obtaining relevant trophies, the relationship with the fans deteriorates quickly. The pressure is constant and is part of the daily life of those who take on the leadership of top teams. Tite seems, however, to be aware of this scenario and how it needs to be faced.

Tite's statement came after a delicate moment for Flamengo. The defeat to Peñarol, at home, in a group stage match of the Copa Libertadores, raised alarm bells for fans and the coaching staff. Flamengo had high expectations for the season, especially after major reinforcements and the arrival of Tite, a coach with wide recognition on the national and international scene.

The pressure on Flamengo is nothing new. The club, which has one of the biggest fans in the world, is known for its high expectations for titles. The expensive squad, made up of renowned players, also increases this demand. Each stumble is widely covered by the media and amplifies the dissatisfaction of part of the fans, who demand immediate results.

CAN IT GO BAD AT THE MOMENT?

The Copa Libertadores, in particular, has a important meaning for Flamengo and its fans. The continental tournament is seen as one of the club's main objectives each season. Any result other than victory can generate dissatisfaction and pressure on the technical committee, as occurred after the setback against Peñarol.

In this context, Tite's speech not only recognizes the fans' dissatisfaction, but also is realistic in relation to what is expected from a club like Flamengo. The demand for titles is part of the package when taking over a club of this size, and the coach seems to be aware of this when he points out that he will only be able to win the support of the fans with significant victories.

Last Sunday (15), Flamengo and Vasco drew 1-1, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The result, although frustrating for the red and blacks, who dominated much of the match, kept them eight points behind leader Botafogo.

Mais Querido entered the field imposing his pace and controlling the actions for most of the game. The red-black goal was scored by Gerson, who has been standing out in recent matches. However, CRF conceded the draw in the final minutes, which prevented a more significant approach to the classification table.

STRATEGY FOR THE FINAL STRAIGHT OF THE BRASILEIRÃO

Even with the difference in points for Botafogo, the technical committee, led by Tite, devised a strategy focused on keeping the team competitive until the last rounds. According to information from the Coluna do Fla portal, the objective is to arrive "alive" in the fight for the title in the final five rounds. Matheus Bachi, assistant coach, believes that the recent good performance against Bahia and Vasco could be an indication that the team is on the right track to fight for the top again.

< p>DECISIVE CONFRONTATION IN THE LIBERTADORES

While trying to get closer to the leaders in the Brasileirão, Mengão is already preparing for the next challenge in the Libertadores. The team will face Peñarol, at Maracanã, in the quarterfinals of the continental tournament. The Rio team is looking for a good result at home before traveling to Uruguay for the second leg next week.
