Supreme Court Justice Gilmar Mendes denied on Wednesday the request to remove Ednaldo Rodrigues from the presidency of the CBF. The judge considered the request presented by federal deputy Daniela do Waguinho (União Brasil-RJ) in a petition on Monday to be "inadmissible" .
Gilmar Mendes also denied the suspension of the approval of the agreement signed earlier this year that kept Ednaldo Rodrigues as president , a request made by Fernando Sarney, vice-president of the CBF, this Wednesday. According to the minister, there is no legal provision for the deputy and the vice-president to participate in the type of action that discussed and approved the agreement that kept Ednaldo in charge of the entity.
There were, at the time, no elements in the records that led to the understanding or even suspicion of the occurrence of simulation, fraud or civil incapacity on the part of those involved - wrote Gilmar in the decision.
Despite the two denials, Gilmar Mendes ordered the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro to "immediately and urgently investigate... the facts described in the petitions" . Daniela do Waguinho and Fernando Sarney claim that the signature of Colonel Nunes, former president of the CBF , on the agreement from the beginning of the year is false.
Gilmar Mendes considered that the statements subsequently sent to the STF report serious suspicions of defects in consent, capable of compromising the agreement approved on February 21. Therefore, he determined that the allegations should be analyzed within the scope of the Public Civil Action (ACP) that originated the agreement, in the TJ of Rio de Janeiro.

After leaving the scene, the player stated in an interview with the Leo Dias website that the process is proceeding smoothly and emphasized that he is upholding his parental responsibilities. " It was very calm, easy. It was just a hearing to discuss the children's issues. Today we only talk about the children. We have a good relationship, I've never failed to provide for the children, I'm very calm, the truth will always come out," the athlete stated.
