In the following season, in 2021, the lowest mark, with 11 games started. In 202 there were 16 matches, while this year he started 13 times in 29 rounds of the Brazilian Championship so far.

After Flamengo's victory in the Copa do Brasil final, Gabigol revealed that he is leaving the club. In an interview on the sidelines, the Mais Querido striker took the opportunity to reveal that Tite did not respect him as a player.
"It was a troubled year for me individually. The issue of doping, then a coach who didn't respect me as a player. During those moments I never tried to express that for me", he said, before finishing:
"I always worked, I tried to improve, I tried show him that I could help in some way. When Filipe [Luís] arrived he knew I was training. These two goals (in the first game of the final) were the result of the work I did last year and at the beginning of this year", he said. .
