If there's one controversial thing about football, it's the penalty. a> The "ball in the lime mark" can quickly transform players into heroes or villains. However, the UOL portal found out how many penalties each team had for, against and what the 'balance' is like during the Brazilian Championship 2024.
Galo, Palmeiras and Flamengo stand out
Atlético-MG is the team with the most penalties in favor during the 31 rounds so far. Galo has 11 penalties in its favor, even though it has one game in hand — the delayed duel against Athletico does not yet have a date scheduled. Palmeiras and Flamengo follow Atlético closely. Paulistas and Rio de Janeiro have already had nine penalties scored in their favor during the competition.
The trio also stands out in the penalty shootout, which consists of in the number of penalties in favor subtracted from those marked against. Palmeiras leads with seven, Galo follows with four, and Flamengo, Vitória, Internacional, Vasco and Cruzeiro appear with three. Juventude is the extreme team. As initially revealed by journalists Rodrigo Mattos and Bruno Braz, Turkey's Fenerbahçe presented an official proposal to Filipe Luís's staff following José Mourinho's dismissal. The Turkish team positively evaluated the Brazilian coach's work and signaled financial compensation.
However, Filipe Luís quickly decided not to accept the offer. The board, led by Bap, along with the football department led by José Boto, acted behind the scenes to prevent the coach's loss.

The dispute between Internacional and Flamengo over Thiago Maia's debt has entered a new chapter. According to information released by journalist Venê Casagrande, the Rio Grande do Sul club suffered another defeat at the National Chamber for Dispute Resolution (CNRD) , after having its "request for clarification" denied.
According to Venê Casagrande, Colorado still has the option of appealing to the Arbitration Chamber . However, this procedure is often costly and, in most cases, does not change decisions already made by the CNRD. Therefore, Flamengo is closely monitoring the case's developments and hopes to receive the amounts owed directly from Internacional.
The decision requires Internacional to pay €1,472,588.33 (approximately R$9 million at the current exchange rate) for the breach of contract involving Thiago Maia. In addition, the Rio Grande do Sul club must pay R$51,211.99 in legal costs.
Back in 2025, during a transfer window, Santos tried to sign Thiago Maia . However, the deal ended up not moving forward precisely because of this legal dispute between Internacional and Flamengo .
