Forward Paulinho, currently at Atlético-MG, is close to being announced as a reinforcement for Palmeiras < /b>for 2025. If the negotiation is completed, the player could surpass Arrascaeta, from Flamengo, in the ranking of most expensive transfers among Brazilian clubs.
Since 2019, the Uruguayan has led this list, after Flamengo paid R$ 89.4 million to Cruzeiro to count on the midfielder. According to information from GE, Palmeiras plans to pay R$ 117 million for Paulinho, in addition to including two athletes in the agreement with Atlético-MG.
The second highest amount paid by one Brazilian club to another was recorded in 2024, when Palmeiras invested R$ 62 .1 million to sign Maurício, from Internacional. Next come Allan (R$ 43 million, from Atlético-MG to Flamengo), Leandro Damião (R$ 41 .6 million, from Internacional to Santos) and Bruno Praxedes (R$ 35.9 million, from Internacional to RB Bragantino).
Dominance of Flamengo and Botafogo in the General Top-5
When transfers involving players from foreign clubs are considered, Arrascaeta occupies fifth place in the overall ranking. Paulinho's likely arrival at Palmeiras, for R$117 million, would place him in second place and take the Uruguayan out of the Top-5.
At the top of the list is Thiago Almada, signed by Botafogo from Atlanta United (USA) for R$ 137.4 million. Second place belongs to Carlos Alcaraz, acquired by Flamengo from Southampton (ING) for R$ 110.6 million.
Luiz Henrique, who left Betis (ESP) for Botafogo for R$ 106.6 million, occupies third place. Right after is Gerson, for whom Flamengo paidR$92 million to Olympique de Marseille (FRA).
In addition to Arrascaeta, who appears in fifth, Flamengo dominates the following positions: Pedro, < b>Gabigol, Nicolás de la Cruz and Everton Cebolinha are among the ten most expensive. The only exception besides Botafogo and Flamengo is Lucho Rodríguez, signed by Bahia from Liverpool (URU) for R$65.3 million.

One of the great merits of Filipe Luís's work at Flamengo's helm is its defensive solidity . Under his leadership, the team has not been defeated this season, and Rossi is largely responsible for this. The Argentine goalkeeper is having a consistent year , with decisive performances and an impressive streak of clean sheets.
According to a survey released by the club this Tuesday (7), Rossi reached seven consecutive games without conceding goals in 2025 and established himself as the athlete with the most matches in the season, totaling 51 appearances so far.
The term "clean sheet" originated in the Premier League and is used to define when a goalkeeper finishes a match without conceding a goal , and Rossi has already achieved this feat in 29 of his 51 matches this year for the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved). The only performance in which the number 1 conceded more goals was against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup in June. On that occasion, Flamengo lost 4-2 in the round of 16 of the competition.
With Rossi on a high and a mainstay in the squad, Flamengo returns to the field on October 15th to face Botafogo at 7:30 pm (Brasília time) at Nilton Santos Stadium for the 28th round of the Brasileirão. The match will be broadcast on Premiere (pay-per-view), Record TV (open channel) and Cazé TV (YouTube).
