REMEMBER! TITE, FLAMENGO'S NEW COACH, WAS IN ADVANCE OF CORINTHIANS AT ITS HIMESTONE

Flamengo's new coach has already been announced: Tite. The coach is one of the most acclaimed in Brazil, mainly for his work with Corinthians, in his two spells at the club: between 2010 and 2013, and between 2015 and 2016. There were six awards, three of which were international, including the most important of all: the Club World Cup. Can the Rubro-Negra Nation expect to see the same story repeated in Mais Querido?

Tite took over Corinthians in 2010 with eight games left in the Brasileirão and practically performed a miracle. This is because the coach managed to get the team out of the hole they were in (without wins for 10 straight games) and secured third place in the championship and a place in the Pre-Libertadores after not losing in the last eight rounds.

In 2011, the coach may have lost Paulistão and been disqualified from the Libertadores at the beginning of the year, but he led Timão to win the fifth Brazilian championship. And, the following year (2012), he redeemed himself and took home the first cup in the club's history in the Copa Libertadores da América. We certainly shouldn't forget the 2012 World Championship, in which Corinthians defeated Chelsea (ING) in the final!

In the 2013 season, the results were a mix of emotions, again! After winning the World Cup at the beginning of the year, the São Paulo team won the Recopa Sul-Americana over São Paulo and Paulistão playing against Santos in the final.

However, in addition to being eliminated by Boca Juniors (ARG) in the round of 16 of the Libertadores, and for Grêmio in the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil, Timão did so badly in the Brazilian Championship that they didn't even get a place in the 2014 Libertadores. This led to Tite's contract not being renewed with Alvinegro.

2014 was a sabbatical year. As in the first nine months of 2022, Tite was out of work and remained away from his profession. In fact, his name was the favorite to take over the Brazilian team before the 2014 World Cup, according to a study carried out by the Datafolha institute.

Dunga was called in his place and he continued to wait until that, at the end of 2014, in December, he returned to command Corinthians for the 2015 season. The 'Era Mano Menezes' in 2014 had been terrible and the black and white board decided to invite him back. Paulistão was a disaster, the Copa do Brasil ended in the quarter-finals and was left out of the G4 in the Brasileirão, having to go to the Pre-Libertadores the following year.

Tite's return to Corinthians was not a complete success, but it had its high point. The coach was eliminated from the Libertadores, Copa do Brasil and Paulistão, but won the sixth Brazilian championship three rounds before the end of the competition.

2016 was a short year for Tite, as he was fired in June after being eliminated in the round of 16 of the Libertadores and losing the Campeonato Paulista to Audax. But it was perfect timing for him to take command of the Brazilian team, since, one day before his dismissal (June 14), Dunga left his position.

After that, Tite's journey defending 'Amarelinha' began until it ended at the end of last year. Despite the failure in the World Cup in Russia in 2018 and in 2022, he won the Copa América in 2019.

Expectations for his story at Flamengo are high, but the reality is that, doing worse than the year 2023 will be difficult and this was the condition that Tite found Corinthians at the end of 2014, for example.
