Last Friday, the athlete ended his treatment journey with the last chemotherapy session, being surprised by an exciting red-and-black party organized by colleagues and employees of the clinic where he received care. The moment was shared on social media by midfielder Khauan Schlickmann, a close friend of the player.
A FIGHT WITH A SMILE
In a video posted online, Schlickmann expressed his admiration for the strength of Raphael during the entire process: "You don't know how strong you were during this period of chemotherapy, my brother! You always thought positively and from the first day you found out about what happened, you were always yourself and with a smile on your face. You are an eagle , brother, you were born to fly high. You'll soon be back on the pitch. I love you and I'm very proud of you" - wrote Schlickmann.

Throughout the five chemotherapy sessions, which lasted until December at fortnightly intervals, Raphael demonstrated his resilience. In the last meeting with health professionals, the goalkeeper couldn't contain his emotion when thanking them for the party and the support received: It was great to receive this surprise and the affection from people. From my first day at the clinic, all the staff treated me very well, they were very attentive. On my last day of treatment, I was surprised with a Flamengo flag and banner. BACK TO THE CHILDHOOD DREAM
Raphael Nunes, who arrived at Flamengo in May 2021, coming from a distinguished spell for Cruzeiro, saw his path interrupted by a cancer diagnosis. However, he kept his childhood dream alive by signing a contract with the club until January 2026. In September last year, the goalkeeper recorded his first training session with the main squad on social media, alongside Santos.
Thank God everything went well during this period. It wasn't easy, but I'm very happy to complete this entire stage. I had all the support from my family and Flamengo during this period. Maracanã will be the stage for the decision between Flamengo and Barcelona (ESP), valid for the final of the U-20 Club World Cup, this Saturday (23), at 4:30 pm . In search of the intercontinental championship, Mais Querido announced the list of athletes related to the confrontation.
The following players were called up: Carbone, Da Mata, Daniel Sales, Douglas Telles, Eduardo Jung, Fabiano, Felipe Teresa, Guilherme Gomes, Gusttavo, Iago, João Alves, João Victor, Joshua, Kaio Nobrega, Léo Nannetti, Lorran, Lucas Furtado, Matheus Gonçalves, Pablo Lúcio, Pedro Leão, Ryan Roberto, Shola and Wanderson.
So far, 23,055 tickets have been sold for the final. This number is considered positive for a youth competition, but still below the expectations of the red-and-black fans. The initial supply is 37,844 tickets , according to journalist Venê Casagrande. If they sell out, new tickets will be released.
Demand is expected to increase from Thursday (21), as the game could mark another achievement for the Garotos do Ninho , who beat Olympiacos (GRE) in the last edition and now dream of their second world title in the category.

Flamengo takes to the field this Saturday (23) to play the final of the U-20 Club World Cup , against Barcelona (ESP). For the clash, Filipe Luís chose not to release Wallace Yan , who will remain integrated into the professional squad.

Early in his tenure as Flamengo's U-20 coach , Bruno Pivetti commented on his decision to leave professional football behind to take over the club's youth academy . To date, the coach has gone six games unbeaten, with four wins and two draws.

Last Friday (15), Pivetti participated in Mengocast, Flamengo TV's official podcast , and detailed the reasons that led him to accept the red-black invitation , even after playing for several professional teams such as Vitória, Tombense, CSA, Goiás, Guarani, Chapecoense, Náutico, CRB and Operário.
"First, the club's grandeur. I've made it a goal in my career that when a club the size of Flamengo called me, I would only have one decision: accept . I came to add to and contribute to this great story," he emphasized.
According to the coach, despite receiving offers from professional teams after leaving Operário, the solidity of the youth academy project influenced his decision: " When I see a solid project with good ideas, it lights up my eyes . I received offers from professional teams, but I chose the best working conditions. Flamengo 's U-20 team is a mini-professional team. The structure, good players, and ideal working conditions made me accept the challenge," he explained.
Living an intense routine, Pivetti revealed that he is literally "immersed" in Flamengo . With his family in Campinas, the coach has lived at Ninho do Urubu since arriving: " This idea of a professional who works 24 hours a day, in my case, is literal . I'm immersed in Ninho, I've been living here for almost a month. I experience the club all the time, and the facilities are fantastic," he stated.
Pivetti's next challenge will be this Saturday (16), when Flamengo faces Bangu, at 10 am (Brasília time), in Moça Bonita, for the third round of the Campeonato Carioca Sub-20. The match is the last for the Garotos do Ninho before the Club World Cup final , when Mengão faces Barcelona next Saturday (23) at 4:30 pm, at Maracanã.
