Sunday (25) was a celebration for Flamengo fans. At Maracanã, the team beat Fluminense 2-0. One of the topics that moved the classic was coach Tite's interview after the match. Asked about the possibility of “losing” players to the Brazilian team, the coach said that the entire red and black squad is “at the disposal” of Dorival Júnior.

The former 'Amarelinha' coach currently has seven athletes in his squad who have already played for Canarinho: David Luiz, Gerson, Everton Ribeiro, Everton Cebolinha, Bruno Henrique, Gabigol and Pedro. Mengão's number 9 played in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Interestingly, Luiz Araújo is the only one among the team's attackers who has never been called up.

On the rise, defender Léo Pereira could get his first opportunity. It is worth noting that Thiago Maia, despite being an Olympic champion in 2016, when he was still a Santos player, never played for the main team.

Flamengo's biggest concern for the 2024 calendar is the Copa América. National football will not stop during the competition, which is scheduled to take place between June 20th and July 14th. In addition to the Brazilians in the red and black squad, other names such as Arrascaeta, Nicolás de la Cruz, Matías Viña and Erick Pulgar have a great chance of being called up by their respective teams.

Because of this, Flamengo, in addition to other clubs in the Série A of the Brasileirão, sent a letter to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to question the calendar. Rubro-Negro's idea is to remove the Brazilian Championship games during the Copa América, so as not to suffer losses in the middle of the tournament with straight points.
