After recent eliminations in the Copa do Brasil and Libertadores, Luis Zubeldía faces pressure as São Paulo coach. Faced with the possibility of the Argentine's dismissal, the former Flamengo coach, Tite, started to be considered by the São Paulo club.

According to journalist Paulo Giacomelli, part of the São Paulo board welcomes Zubeldía's departure, seeing this as a chance to make room for the hiring of Tite in 2025. Luis Zubeldía faces his moment of biggest questioning ahead of the São Paulo tricolor. After the elimination in the Libertadores and a sequence of instability in the Brasileirão, the Argentine began to be questioned more.

Tite at Flamengo

Tite and his coaching staff arrived at Flamengo on October 9, 2023, after the dismissal of Jorge Sampaoli. The former Brazilian national team coach signed a contract until the end of 2024, but left his position three months ahead of schedule.

In his time at Gávea, Tite led the team in 70 games, accumulating 41 wins, 13 draws and 16 defeats, with 109 goals for and 50 against. He also won the Campeonato Carioca undefeated.

However, despite a promising start, the team's performances under Tite's command did not please a large part of the fans. After leading the Brasileirão for a few rounds, Flamengo began to fluctuate in the competition, in addition to being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Libertadores. After his departure, Mengão returned to the field on two occasions with Filipe Luís as coach, and won both times, against Corinthians, in the Copa do Brasil, and against Bahia, in the Brazilian Championship.

Cruzeiro, with 37 points from 19 matches, is the only team that can get closer in the standings this round . Internacional, meanwhile, has 24 points and sits in 11th place before kick-off. This is a crucial matchup for both teams.

PROBABLE LINEUP

According to the week's training sessions, Flamengo 's likely lineup is: Rossi; Varela, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Ayrton Lucas; Allan, Jorginho and Arrascaeta; Luiz Araújo, Samuel Lino (Cebolinha) and Pedro.

EMERSON ROYAL IS OUT

Coach Filipe Luís is expected to make changes to the lineup, as has been common during his tenure. Emerson Royal sprained his left ankle during last Wednesday's game (13) at Maracanã and is unable to play. Varela will be the replacement at right-back and is expected to take over the position.

EXPECTATION OF RETURN

Another point of concern is De La Cruz's situation. The midfielder has been sidelined since July due to left knee pain , but he's expected to be included on the bench, having traveled south with the Mais Querido team.

FLAMENGO'S ADVANTAGE

Until the first leg, the teams' head-to-head record showed a clear advantage for Palmeiras, with seven meetings between them, all of which went to Palmeiras. The red-and-black victory at Gávea broke that record and raised expectations for a tight duel in São Paulo.

In addition to a spot in the semifinals, the competition also involves the battle for top scorer. Palmeiras' Amanda Gutierres leads with 15 goals, while Flamengo 's Cristiane is third with nine . Neither of them scored in the first game, but they remain individual standouts.
