This week has a different look. This is because it was decided that the Brasileirão commitments would not be concentrated on the weekend, but rather over four different days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday). The decision was made so that the Brazilian Cup final, unprecedentedly, would take place on two Sundays. The two matches, which will take place between Flamengo and São Paulo, are scheduled for the 17th and 24th of September.

As this Sunday (17th) is the first game of the Copa do Brasil final, the two teams' games for the Brasileirão were brought forward and will be held today (13th). While Mengão faces Athletico-PR in Cariacica, Espírito Santo, São Paulo traveled to Porto Alegre, where they face Internacional. The two matches will be at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) and the only ones on Wednesday night (13).

The other clubs, which do not have weekend commitments, will play on the 14th. , 15 and 16, so that the only match on the 17th will be the first half of the final. The ball starts rolling at Maracanã at 4pm (Brasília time). Check out all the Brasileirão matches, divided by day:

Thursday (14/09):

- Santos (Brasília time)

- Fortaleza X Corinthians - 7:00 pm (Brasília time)

- Coritiba X Grêmio- 9:30 pm (Brasília time)

Friday (15/09):

- Cuiabá x América-MG- 20h00 (Brasília time)

- Palmeiras >

- Vasco da Gama >

It's interesting to remember that next week will have a similar aspect. As the 24th round also overlaps with one of the games in the Copa do Brasil final, the matches will start on Monday (18) and end on Saturday (23). In addition, there is a replacement game for the 15th round between Bahia and Santos.

At Flamengo since 2019, executive director Bruno Spindel is leaving the club after seven years of service. His departure was announced this Friday (29) by the Coluna do Fla portal and confirmed by a source linked to the red-black top management.

Spindel began his career in the football department, a position he held from 2019 to 2024. In recent months, however, he has been occupying more discreet roles within the management led by Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap.

MANAGER HAD A SUCCESSFUL PASSAGE

During his time at the club, Bruno Spindel worked closely with Marcos Braz and directly contributed to the formation of one of the most successful squads in Mengão's recent history. During this period, the team won 13 trophies: four Campeonato Carioca titles, two Copa do Brasil titles, two Brasileirões titles, two Libertadores titles, two Supercopas do Brasil titles, and one Recopa Sudamericana title.

Before taking over the football department, Spindel had already headed the Marketing department under Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, transitioning to the sports department with the arrival of Rodolfo Landim as president. In early 2024, the director received inquiries from clubs such as Atlético-MG, Santos, and even rival Vasco da Gama , but chose to remain at Flamengo . To date, the club has not provided an official reason for his departure.

ABOUT THAT...

While the board is undergoing changes, on the field the team led by Filipe Luís continues in great form. After the 8-0 thrashing of Vitória at Maracanã, Mengão returns to the field this Sunday (30), against Grêmio, for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship.

Saúl Ñíguez has been playing for Flamengo for just over a month and has already established himself as a key player in coach Filipe Luís's scheme. In just six matches, the Spaniard has attracted attention not only for his individual technique but also for his synergy with Jorginho in midfield.

During an interview at Ninho do Urubu on Friday (29), the player spoke about adapting to and experiencing the intensity of Brazilian football. “ When you know a player, you know their qualities, how they move on the field , and what the coach asks of them. The level of the team helps them perform at their best, and the team's collaborative approach also helps them adapt. The demands and quality are very high. The group is so good that it helps,” he declared.

HALF PRAISES JORGINHO

When asked about his partnership with Jorginho, Saúl was blunt: " Jorginho is a great player, he understands football perfectly. But also Allan, Evertton, Vitinho (Victor Hugo) and many other players who can play in the middle are of a great level," he said before concluding.

" Nico, who is returning from injury, is looking for rhythm. His skill is very high, despite the games I played with Jorginho in the middle. But we won't always be able to count on Jorginho, we have to value all our teammates," concluded the midfielder.

NEXT APPOINTMENT

With Saúl available, Flamengo arrives in high spirits for the 22nd round of the Brasileirão. After the impressive 8-0 victory against Vitória, at Maracanã, the team led by Filipe Luís returns to the field against Grêmio, next Sunday (30).

Flamengo heads into the 22nd round of the Brasileirão in high spirits. After a resounding 8-0 victory over Vitória at Maracanã , Filipe Luís's team has 46 points and leads the competition in isolation.

The next challenge takes place again at Maracanã, this Sunday (31), at 4 pm (Brasília time), against Grêmio . And the Flamengo team will do its last training session during the morning of this Saturday (29), for the confrontation.

JORGINHO FEELS DISCOMFORT

One of the season's standouts, Italian-Brazilian Jorginho, is a concern after experiencing thigh pain during the week. The player, a key midfielder, only performed indoor activities at the training center's gym.

Still, he's expected to be available for the match against Grêmio. If he needs to be rested, Filipe Luís could opt to rest him, but the coaching staff considers the midfielder's presence likely. Alongside Saúl and Arrascaeta, the player has formed one of the most consistent trios in Brazilian football.

FLAMENGO CONTINUES IN GOOD PHASE

Since taking over the team, Filipe Luís has maintained a high level of intensity that has resulted in important victories and consistent performance in the tournament. The rout over Vitória confirmed the team's momentum, and over 60,000 fans are expected at Maracanã.
