On Friday night (18), Flamengo and Franca will face each other in a game valid for the semifinals of the Champions League Americas (BCLA). The match pits two teams that have been the protagonists of the biggest rivalry in Brazilian basketball in recent seasons against each other. Thus, coach Sérgio Hernández, from Mais Querido, and Helinho, from the rival team, projected the duel later on.
Last Thursday (17), coaches and team captains participated in a press conference to promote the match. Thus, Helinho began by stating that he will use all the tactical repertoire he acquired throughout the season to try to beat Flamengo.

" During a season's work, you acquire technical and tactical repertoire over the days, weeks and months. And when you arrive at a competition like this, you have all that repertoire that you acquired over those months to put into practice. All teams have tactical changes, all coaches have them , and it will depend a lot on what happens during the game ," he said, before concluding:
" It's very strategic, but of course the teams already have their repertoire mapped out . 80% of the game is already mapped out and any changes that occur will occur. Maybe this is one of the coolest things that can happen in basketball and generate all this passion that basketball has around the world, as it is one of the most watched sports in the world. "
Flamengo and Franca have played four games this season, with two wins for each side. However, Sérgio 'Oveja' highlights that Helinho has only faced the Mais Querido under his leadership once and has much more experience against Gustavo De Conti's team.
" The problem is that the previous games, most of them against Gustavinho (Gustavo de Conti). So, now he has a problem. He doesn't know if they will do the things that Gustavo did. The truth is that I respected the tactical baggage that I had with Gustavo, because the team was comfortable with that, but I changed some things ", said the Argentine coach before adding that he implemented some changes in the red-black team.
" The first time he played against Flamengo, coached by Sergio Hernández, was two days ago. So, for sure, he saw different things, and he has to take some things from that game and some from the previous ones. It's not the same team as three months ago. "

Flamengo and Franca will face each other on Friday night (18), in a game valid for the semifinal of the Champions League Americas. The match will start at 9:10 pm, at Maracanãzinho. Before that, Instituto Córdoba and Boca Juniors will play the other semifinal, at 6:10 pm, at the same location.

Flamengo Basketball has officially announced the arrival of another notable name for the 2025/26 season. This is Argentine winger Alex Negrete, 24 years old and 1.92m tall . With a notable stint at Instituto Córdoba in Argentina, the player is considered one of the greatest prospects in South American basketball and completes the group that will compete in major national and international competitions throughout the season.
Negrete was named the Best Young Player and Most Improved Player of the last Argentine championship. During the regular season, he led his team in scoring, averaging 13.66 points per game, along with 4.8 rebounds and a 15.5 efficiency rating.
His performance also stood out in the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA), with 10.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game , helping Instituto Córdoba reach the Final Four, played at Maracanãzinho, the stage of the Rubro-Negro's title in the competition.

The second phase of the Basketball Development League (LDB), the main youth tournament in Brazilian basketball, began this Tuesday (29). The city of Rio de Janeiro hosts the clashes of group A.2 , with matches taking place at the Hélio Maurício gym, located at Flamengo's headquarters, in Gávea.
Flabasquete makes its competition debut this Wednesday (30), at 2 pm, against the Fortaleza team. The day's round started earlier, with CETAF facing Vasco/Tijuca at 9:30 am. This stage will be played until next Monday (5), with three games scheduled per day.
In addition to Flamengo, CETAF, Fortaleza, and Vasco/Tijuca, other teams also make up this group: Botafogo and UNIFACISA. The red-and-black club plays at home in this stage , after having participated in the first stage in São Paulo, at Paulistano.
Organized by the National Basketball League (LNB) in partnership with the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB) , the LDB's main purpose is to develop young athletes and strengthen the sport's youth ranks. The competition has been an important showcase for discovering new talent.
