Renato Augusto, one of Corinthians' standout players and 'Fiel' idol, is currently in an uncertain situation regarding his future at the club. The renewal of his contract with the São Paulo team is at an impasse, which could eventually result in his availability on the market soon.

At this moment, talks to extend Renato Augusto's contract with Corinthians are at a standstill. As a result of this situation, the player has already received proposals from clubs from both the Brazilian football elite and abroad. And the name of Flamengo, his former club and the athlete's trainer, was speculated for a possible investment in the midfielder.

Although Renato Augusto expresses his desire to remain at Corinthians, Flamengo emerges as a very solid candidate for his possible signing, especially if the speculation about Tite taking over as the Rio club's new coach comes to fruition. It is important to remember that Renato already had the opportunity to work with Tite in the Brazilian team until 2018.

The connection between Renato Augusto and Tite is not only professional, but also personal, which could positively influence his decision. The successful partnership they had in the Brazilian national team, combined with Renato Augusto's history of achievements and flashy style of play, make him a natural fit for a team like Flamengo, which constantly seeks high performance.

< The midfielder had his training in Flamengo's youth categories. In 2005, Renato Augusto made his debut wearing the Rio club's shirt in a match against Corinthians, which is the team he currently defends. His time at Flamengo was notably marked by winning the 2006 Copa do Brasil, in which they defeated Vasco.

Last Tuesday, the candidate for re-election for mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, denied the journalist Ancelmo Gois, from Globo. In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.

The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.

According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.

Eduardo Paes guarantees that the removal is the responsibility of Rio's city hall.

Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.

“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.

Midfielder Renato Augusto expressed dissatisfaction with the result of the classic between Flamengo and Fluminense at Maracanã, this Sunday (25). According to Renato, the score does not reflect what the game was like. In the midfielder's opinion, Fluminense tried more for the goal, but ended up being hampered by counterattacks, which resulted in the defeat against Mengão.

“A slightly unfair result. We tried a little more, they came out on the counterattack, hit two balls and scored the goals. We also knew the physical wear and tear we would have in the game. But it's a start of work. Of course, you reaching a decision (against LDU), coming from a defeat in the classic, is not good, but we have great confidence in the work”, said Renato.

Continuing his argument , Renato also admitted that he has not yet managed to fully assimilate coach Fernando Diniz's ideas. The player has been at Corinthians since 2021 and only arrived at Fluminense at the beginning of this year. In Rio, Renato Augusto also had spells at Flamengo, the club where he was formed at the base and won titles in the Copa do Brasil and Campeonato Carioca.

UNLIKE RENATO, DINIZ AGREE WITH FLAMENGO'S VICTORY

After Fluminense's defeat to Flamengo, coach Fernando Diniz recognized the superiority of Tite's team and stated in a press conference that Mengão deserved the victory in the classic. Additionally, he praised the refereeing for correctly canceling a Tricolor goal.

“In the first half, we managed to play a balanced match due to the possible conditions. Flamengo deserved it, it was a fair victory. I think the refereeing did very well today, it interfered little in the game (…) We only prepared this team for one day to play, but it was an important match, we needed to win to have a chance of winning the Guanabara Cup”, evaluated Diniz.
