Flamengo had a good start in the semi-final of Carioca 2024. The team, despite missing opportunities, beat Fluminense 2-0. Now, the club has the knife and cheese in hand to guarantee a place in the decision in the match of return. After the classic last Saturday (9), Tite held a press conference and made a revelation.

The coach says he takes turns giving instructions on the edge of the field with Matheus Bachi, his son, and also with his assistant Cléber Xavier, for a specific reason. The coach has always had knee problems and needs to spare himself for a few moments, making his assistants stand out.

“Me, Matheus and Cléber alternate moments of guidance. Many of them are from set pieces. Every set piece, Matheus is there to provide guidance. And eventually, in ball situations, he and Cléber, we alternate. Even to save my knee”, says Tite.

Matheus Bachi is responsible for instructing the team on dead balls, according to Tite. However, he also interferes with the ball rolling to help his father.

Tite recently underwent surgery and had a prosthesis

Tite's knee problem is old. As a player, Tite suffered from several injuries in the region and had to end his career early, at the age of 28. But the pain did not stop, and last year, during Flamengo's holidays in December, the coach took advantage of the break to operate and fit a prosthesis with doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, from Atlético-MG and who worked with the coach on the Brazilian team.

“Everything was great. Tite is undergoing physiotherapy and recovering very well”, Rodrigo Lasmar told GE, at the time, before explaining:

“The surgery was to place a customized prosthesis on the knee, which is from a new generation, produced by a 3D printer that makes a tailor-made prosthesis for the patient, allowing the best results”, he says.

Former Vasco player André Balada had a successful career in football, with achievements such as the Copa do Brasil and games with the Brazilian team, as well as time in Europe. However, the former striker revealed that he only had one dream left to fulfill: playing for Flamengo.

In an interview with journalist Igor Rodrigues, André preferred to remain secretive, but said that he did not play for his favorite team and that Mais Querido is still alive in the current Libertadores. However, his father ended the suspense by saying that Flamengo is the club that has had the former striker's heart since his childhood.

"(What was missing from his career?) He missed winning a Brazilian championship. ( Wasn't there a club missing?) My father is a Basque fan (laughs), I played for his club. (Did he play for yours?) Yeah... No. (Can you tell me which team you love?) When I can, I go and watch my team's games. (Is he at Libertadores?) Yes, he's at Libertadores", said André, who saw the mystery go 'down the drain' because of his father.

“His dream was to play for Flamengo. We spent a month negotiating with Flamengo, it almost worked”, said Lenílson Marins, André Balada’s father. The aforementioned dialogue took place in 2011. The player played for Bordeux (FRA), and would be loaned to Mais Querido and even embarked from France to Brazil. However, on a stopover in Germany, his phone rang and the businessman informed him that he had signed a deal with Atlético-MG at the last minute.
