On Tuesday night (2), Flamengo enters the field for the first time in the Copa Libertadores 2024. This will also be Tite's debut in the competition leading the red and black team. The tournament, however, is an old acquaintance of the coach, who has already played in eight editions.

The first round of Mengão will be at the altitude of Colombia, another factor in which the coach already has a lot of experience. Check out the history of the red-and-black commander's debuts in the international competition above sea level below.

First of all, it must be said that Tite has an enviable history of debuts in the Libertadores. The coach never lost in the initial eight rounds he played, having five wins and three draws. In total, the team led by the coach found the net 18 times, while conceding just eight goals.

Libertadores Champion in 2012, Tite started the title campaign in a similar way to the one he will begin in 2024. This is because just like that year, the coach's first match will be away from home. In 2012 he went to Venezuela to face Deportivo Táchira, while in the current edition, they face Millonarios, in Colombia.

See the retrospective:

2002 – Oriente Petrolero (BOL) 2×4 Grêmio

2003 – Grêmio 3×2 Pumas (MEX)

2004 – São Caetano 4×2 The Strongest (BOL)

2011 – Corinthians 0x0 Tolima (COL)

2012 – Deportivo Táchira (VEN) 1×1 Corinthians

2013 – San José (BOL) 1×1 Corinthians

2015 – Corinthians 4×0 Once Caldas (COL)

2016 – Cobresal (CHI) 0x1 Corinthians

< b>Flamengo's training

For the debut match in the Copa Libertadores 2024, Flamengo must have changes in the starting lineup. This is because De La Cruz, Fabrício Bruno and Arrascaeta, who were in their respective teams during the FIFA Data, presented muscle fatigue and should be spared. With this, it could be that Léo Ortiz, a defender recently signed by the club, will finally make his debut as a Mais Querido player.

It is worth remembering that Flamengo has three absences already confirmed for the match. The first is Gerson, who is still recovering from kidney surgery. Another in the Medical Department is Wesley, who is treating an adductor injury. Finally, Gabigol is also out, but because he was suspended for two years for attempted anti-doping fraud. The number 10 will still appeal the decision.
