O ex-Flamengo é o único brasileiro, e também o único sul-americano, entre os 11 escolhidos pela publicação. A equipe ideal conta ainda com nomes de peso do futebol europeu, como o croata Luka Modric, que figura no meio-campo.

A venda de Wesley foi concretizada por 25 milhões de euros, cerca de R$ 163 milhões na cotação da época. A reestreia de Tite, ex-Flamengo, à beira do campo não teve o resultado desejado. Com uma equipe alternativa, o Cruzeiro foi derrotado por 2 a 1 pelo Pouso Alegre, no Mineirão, pela abertura do Campeonato Mineiro. Apesar do revés, a partida marcou um momento especial na carreira do treinador, que voltou a trabalhar após um ano e quatro meses afastado do futebol. Aos 64 anos, Tite aproveitou a entrevista coletiva para falar sobre o retorno, o momento pessoal e até projetar até quando pretende seguir na profissão.
Tite, ex-Flamengo, sobre estreia no Cruzeiro: "É preciso discernimento e calma..."
Em tom sereno, o treinador destacou que está em paz com a decisão de voltar ao futebol e revelou que ainda se vê trabalhando por vários anos: “É vida. É aquilo que sei fazer, e a minha vida toda foi assim. Estou em paz nisso. De cabeça, estou bem. Outra hora podemos falar da crise de ansiedade, de conviver mais com minha família, de melhorar meus dois joelhos. Poder andar na área técnica. Estou muito feliz. Sou realizado, mas ainda tenho uma etapa toda. Até os 70 vai legal. E agradeço toda a confiança do Cruzeiro”, afirmou.
Tite não comandava uma equipe desde setembro de 2024, quando deixou o Flamengo. Em abril de 2025, chegou a acertar verbalmente com o Corinthians, mas acabou desistindo após enfrentar uma crise de ansiedade.
O treinador também comentou seu comportamento mais reservado à beira do campo e explicou como costuma lidar com emoções e cobranças no dia a dia: “Sou um cara mais discreto. Pós-jogo não cumprimento adversário, nem perdendo, nem vencendo. Não gosto de externar isso midiaticamente. Às vezes sou criticado por isso. Mas meu sentimento é muito aflorado no vestiário. Não tenho dois discursos. Aquilo que faço é o que sou”, completou.
Questionado sobre o desempenho da equipe alternativa e a possibilidade de mudanças rápidas, Tite pediu calma, principalmente na análise dos jovens utilizados no Campeonato Mineiro: “É inoportuno dizer que os atletas vão voltar por causa de um resultado ruim. Tenho que analisar o desempenho individual dos garotos. Não é tirar porque jogou mal. A formação não funciona assim. É preciso discernimento e calma para direcionar a equipe titular”, explicou.
O treinador também destacou que os jogadores considerados titulares ainda precisam de tempo antes de serem utilizados com mais frequência: “Está programado para depois, quando as duas equipes estiverem em condições de se conectar. Vai depender da evolução física. Não vou arriscar a saúde dos atletas. No caso do Matheusinho, por exemplo, não pareceu grave, mas foi uma medida preventiva. Trabalhamos com dois grupos para, mais à frente, unir tudo em um só”, concluiu.

A não expulsão de Erick Pulgar na final da Libertadores de 2025, vencida pelo Flamengo sobre o Palmeiras, segue incomodando Abel Ferreira. O treinador voltou a citar o lance após a vitória alviverde por 1 a 0 sobre a Portuguesa, neste sábado (10), no Canindé, pela primeira rodada do Campeonato Paulista.
Abel Ferreira volta a reclamar de arbitragem de Flamengo x Palmeiras: "esse asterisco ninguém vai tirar..."
Na partida, o gol do Palmeiras saiu poucos minutos depois da expulsão de Igor Torres, da Portuguesa. Inicialmente advertido com cartão amarelo, o atacante acabou recebendo o vermelho após revisão do VAR, o que serviu de gancho para o técnico português relembrar a decisão continental.
Em entrevista coletiva, Abel Ferreira fez uma comparação direta entre o uso do VAR no Paulistão e o que ocorreu na final da Libertadores, onde perdeu por 1 a 0 para o Flamengo com gol de Danilo, sugerindo incoerência nos critérios adotados.
“Uma equipe não é só feita de bons jogadores. É feita de experiência, de malandragem, de cobrança. É isso que queremos este ano. Aprendemos no ano passado. Até o VAR aprendeu, vocês viram. Não sei se o VAR da Libertadores era diferente deste. Mas é muito triste quando há um lance muito pior, o VAR cumpre seu papel, e numa final de Libertadores, com supostamente VAR top e árbitro top, isso não acontece”, declarou.
Na sequência, o treinador voltou a usar o termo “asterisco” ao se referir à decisão vencida pelo Flamengo, argumento que já havia sido levantado em outras oportunidades: “Está aí a prova de como o treinador do Palmeiras às vezes é chato. Muitas vezes dizem que o Palmeiras não finalizou a gol, que foi incompetente na final, mas esse asterisco ninguém vai tirar. Hoje vocês tiveram a prova disso”, completou.
Essa não foi a primeira vez que Abel Ferreira tocou no assunto. No início de dezembro, antes de uma partida do Brasileirão contra o Atlético-MG, o técnico já havia citado o lance envolvendo Pulgar como determinante no desfecho da final continental.
