YOUTH COACH DETONATES FLAMENGO'S PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE TEAM: "IT COULD HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE"

Flamengo was defeated by Juventude, away from home, 2-1, in the 12th round of the Brasileirão Série A. The goals of the match were scored by Pedro, for Rubro-Negro Carioca, and Lucas Barbosa and Mandaca scored the goals of the team from Rio Grande do Sul.

Despite the negative result, Mengão continued to lead the National League. Rubro-Negro Carioca has 24 points and has the same score as Bahia, currently second in the table.

In the post-game press conference, coach Roger Machado commented on his joy with the result. He highlighted the turnaround with the goals in the second half of the game and that the team even deserved to have won the match with a greater margin in the result.

“The second half, for me, was the crowning achievement, with the goal of the turn, the best game we've ever played and the best collective time too”, began the coach. “It could have been even more if we were fortunate enough to get the ball past the opposing goalkeeper, who had a great night. The victory is very important, it puts us on the front page and gives everyone confidence”, declared Roger Machado.

Roger also explained how the strategy was put together to neutralize Rubro-Negro Carioca. He said that as the match progressed, situations changed. “The strategy for the game against Flamengo was created in 18 minutes on the field, there is no way to do it differently. Then use other tools. The players are accepting it well. Everything depends on tactics, acceptance is great and that's why we are progressing well”, he concluded.

Now, Fla will return to the field next Sunday night (30) , at home, for the 13th round of the Brasileirão Série A. The opponent will be Cruzeiro, currently in fifth place, that is, it is a duel at the top of the table.
