Last Thursday (28), Flamengo released its financial statement for 2023, which included the value of installments payable by clubs that acquired players from Mengão. The value refers to transfers made in 2023. In total, eleven teams have installments to settle with Mais Querido. Among them is Arsenal, which bought defender Pablo Marí, Libertadores champion with Flamengo, in 2020.
The values for purchasing the defender reached, at the time, close to R$90 million. In 2023, Marí was sold from Arsenal to Monza, in Italy, for R$ 36.5 million at the time.
As Flamengo had 40% of the defender's passing, they pocketed 2.4 million pounds (R$ 14.6 million) for the new sale of the defender. Of this amount, Arsenal still has to pay Flamengo, according to the balance sheet, R$ 6.9 million.
Among the other clubs that still have values to settle with Flamengo, the largest of them is Wolverhampton , an English club, which bought midfielder João Gomes in 2023.
The English have a settlement with Flamengo for R$59.9 million. In total, including all the clubs that owe Rubro-Negro, the value reaches R$ 177.6 million to be received through negotiations.
Among the names on the list, there are still the sales of the midfielder Matheus França, for Crystal Palace, attacking midfielder Lázaro, for Almería, and Lucas Paquetá, for West Ham.
