Funkeiro's team requested that the remix be removed from digital platforms
|
0This Thursday (03), Dennis DJ released a remix of the hit 'Tá Ok' by Kevin O Chris. However, the funkeiro's team claimed that the release of the remix made with Maluma and Karol G was not authorized. Outraged, Dudu Traineras, one of Kevin's managers, spoke out on his social networks, criticizing the DJ.
CHECK IT OUT:
A Dudu Traineras representative explained the situation in detail:
“When they partnered up, Dennis asked Sony to work on it, and we agreed. Kevin has a very respectful and considerate relationship with Dennis, so we released it. The song had extraordinary results, and then Sony asked permission for a remix with Maluma. We already felt at that moment that, as Kevin is an independent artist, and Dennis has a major label, an attempt at appropriation on their part”, reported the spokesperson.
Kevin's manager still added saying that Kevin was treated as a mere guest on the remix. The funk artist was notified one day in advance about the recording of the clip and was unable to participate. In this context, they chose to use images from the original recording to represent the funk artist. However, the result did not satisfy Kevin and his team, as the artist only appeared during three takes of three seconds each. Soon, they didn't approve the clip, but Kevin's team was ignored and the clip was released anyway.
On streaming platforms, Kevin O Chris is listed as a guest artist, not a main one alongside Dennis, Maluma and Karol G. Frustrated with what happened, Traineras finishes demanding respect.
“Kevin has admiration and respect for Dennis, but regardless of being a remix with Maluma, they have to respect us. We didn't go knocking on their door to record, the interest came from them. We wanted to have this position and that other people did the same. Kevin helps small artists, he lives funk. This is our biggest revolt, out of respect for our work and our effort,” he concluded.
