0The Mais Querido is going through turbulent times due to its latest results. With the elimination in Libertadores and the poor performance in the Brasileirão, the carioca needs to turn the key and end the bad phase. In this context, the club will have an opportunity to alleviate the internal crisis this Wednesday (16), in the confrontation against Grêmio for the Copa do Brasil. However, Rubro-Negro already has two absences confirmed for the duel.
On the eve of the match against São Paulo for the 19th round of the Brasileirão, David Luiz felt muscle discomfort in his left adductor and was unable to play in the dispute . Despite being focused on recovery, the defender trains only at the club's academy, not being able to play this Wednesday (16).
Another absence from Mengão is Wesley, who received his third yellow card in the last match against Grêmio and is suspended in the return game. In this context, Varela will replace the player, despite the Uruguayan having received a punch in the face on the eve of the dispute.
Amidst the internal crisis, the Rubro-Negro is preparing for the decisive confrontation. Flamengo and Grêmio face each other this Wednesday (16), for the return of the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil. The clubs duel at 21:30 (Brasília time), in Maracanã.
