Out of action since last season due to a serious knee injury , left-back Matías Viña has shown significant progress in his recovery . At the beginning of 2025, the Uruguayan has shown a good response to treatment and, therefore, Flamengo is cautiously advancing in the process of returning the player to the field.
According to information from the 'Coluna do Fla' portal, the red-black Medical Department is closely monitoring the athlete's recovery, who has responded positively to stimuli . Even with the evolution, the club maintains the strategy of not skipping steps , prioritizing a safe and gradual recovery.
In recent weeks, Viña has stepped up his activities at Ninho do Urubu. In addition to physical and strength training in the gym , the full-back has also been performing movements on the field. At this stage of his treatment, he has started to participate in light ball training, always under the supervision of Flamengo's physical preparation team.
Still in the transition phase, Viña trains separately from his teammates and performs specific exercises focusing on movement , touches and resistance , fundamental elements for the full recovery of his injured knee.
Despite the progress, there is still no set date for Viña to be available again to coach Filipe Luís . However, the club has registered the Uruguayan for both the Copa Libertadores and the Super Club World Cup . If he is medically fit, the expectation is that he will return to the field during the competition, which will be played between June and July in the United States.
While Viña continues to prepare, Flamengo returns to the field this Wednesday (09) to face Central Córdoba (ARG), in the second round of the group stage of the Libertadores . The match will be played at Maracanã, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time).
The striker was officially reported by the STJD on Friday and could be preventively suspended, in addition to being banned from football for up to two years.

The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) Prosecutor's Office has charged Flamengo striker Bruno Henrique with alleged match-fixing. In response, the number 27's defense issued a statement to the 'Coluna do Fla' portal, refuting the accusation.

Despite the complaint, Bruno Henrique remains free to play until the case is judged and should be included normally for the game between Flamengo and Ceará, this Sunday (3), at 6:30 pm, for the 18th round of the Brasileirão, at Arena Castelão.

Flamengo's transfer window isn't over yet . Football director José Boto is still looking for two specific reinforcements to further strengthen the squad led by Filipe Luís . The club has already signed five players, but the board believes there are still gaps to be filled. This information comes from the 'GE' portal.
The main movement continues to be for Fiorentina striker Lucas Beltrán . A deal with the Italian club is already in place, and now the only thing left to do is convince the player. The Argentine, who was initially reluctant about a return to South American football, is beginning to welcome the club's offer .
In addition to a striker, Flamengo is seeking another defender. The need has been evident in recent games. With Danilo injured, only Léo Ortiz and Léo Pereira remain as reliable options . Since Filipe Luís rarely uses the youngsters from the youth academy, the starting duo's fatigue has been noticeable—especially in the Copa do Brasil match against Atlético-MG, where their physical and mental fatigue was evident in the goal conceded. Although signing a defender is not considered a priority, the topic is being discussed internally, and José Boto is evaluating options on the market.

Although he was the first signing by Flamengo in this transfer window, midfielder Jorge Carrascal was the last to show up in Rio de Janeiro . According to the 'GE' portal, the last document signed by the Russian club arrived at Flamengo late in the afternoon of this Friday (1st). With that, the official announcement of the player will be made in the coming days, after the conclusion of pending procedures with Atlético-MG.
The reason for the delay was that Dynamo Moscow, his former club, took too long to complete the necessary paperwork for the transfer . The Russian team only released the Colombian after signing Rubens from Atlético-MG as a replacement.
At Dynamo's request, Flamengo will participate in the payment to Atlético-MG for Rubens' acquisition. Thus, a significant portion of the €12 million (R$77 million) invested by Carrascal will go to the Minas Gerais club.
Despite being in Rio since Wednesday, Carrascal has not yet been regularized with the CBF, which prevents him from playing in the next matches — against Ceará, this Sunday (3), for the Brasileirão, and against Atlético-MG, Wednesday (7), for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The registration deadlines for both matches have already expired.
The Colombian's debut is scheduled for August 9th against Mirassol at Maracanã, in the final round of the first half of the Brazilian Championship . Having been training regularly and playing for Dinamo, Carrascal is expected to be available to Filipe Luís as soon as he is officially confirmed. He has already passed the medical exams but will only be able to train with the club after being registered.
